デボンでの３日目、水曜日は朝は結構雨が降りました。前日、前々日と夫は結構な距離を運転していたこともあり、雨の中でかけるよりのんびりしようということになりましたが、１１時ごろにはほとんどやんでいてもう直ぐ上がりそうだったので、エクセターに出ました。まずは、ランチ。以前見たことがなかったレストランがいくつかあり（と言ってもエクセターの街を歩くのは久しぶりでした）、タイ料理とベトナム料理が目についたのでどちらにしようか迷いましたが、ベトナム料理のお店の方がたくさん人が入っていたのでベトナム料理にしました。
On the third day in Devon, it rained quite heavily in the morning. As my husband had driven quite many hours on Monday and Tuesday, we thought we’d take it easy rather than going out in the rain but by 11:00am it had nearly stopped raining and the forecast said it’d stay fine so we did go to Exeter town centre. First, we had lunch. We saw some restaurants we hadn’t seen before (having said that we hadn’t walked in the town for many years), we saw Thai and Vietnamese that we wanted to try and decided to try the Vietnamese because it was much busier than the Thai.
前菜に揚げ春巻きをシェアーして、メインは、夫は、チキンフォー、わたしはチキンのブン。チキンフォーはスープに余り味がなく、余り美味しくなかったです。ブンはまぁまぁ、タレが思っていたのと違ってポン酢っぽい味でしたが、まぁ、普通にいただけました。ただ、チキンは臭みがあっていただけず。
We shared deep-fried spring rolls for the starter and then my husband had Chicken Pho and I had Chicken Bun. The soup of the Pho didn’t have much flavour so it wasn’t great. My Bun was OK. The sauce wasn’t what I expected, it tasted similar to Ponzu from Japan but it was OK. The chicken in the bun was too gamy for me so I left it.
ランチの後は、本屋さんに入って１時間ちょっと過ごし、マークス＆スペンサーズやザラを覗いて、ホテルに戻りました。
After lunch, we went into a Waterstones bookshop, spent about an hour or longer there, then had a look in Marks & Spencer’s & Zara before going back to the hotel.
