今日は晴れたり曇ったり、でも、曇っている方が多かったです。
Although we had some sun today it was more cloudy than sunny.
今日は、夕方にイベントに参加予定があったので夕食は早めの時間に軽くいただくために、昨日スープを多めに作っておきました。軽めだったので、１つ残っていたもうすぐ消費期限が切れるマークス＆スペンサーズのフォンダンショコラもデザートに半分ずついただきました。
I cooked extra soup yesterday so that we could have left-over for an early supper as we were going to join an event in the evening. It was very light so we also shared a fondant chocolat from Marks & Spencer’s, of which the eat by date was very close.
参加したイベントというのは、近くにある Denmans というガーデンで催された、”Gardeners’ Question Time”。よくラジオで放送されている、ガーデニングに関する質問をしてガーデナーさんたちが答えてくださる、というイベントです。少し前にお庭のデザインをしてくださった方がお茶にいらした時に、こういう催しがあるから良かったらネットでチケットを買って参加してね、とおっしゃっていたので行ってみました。司会をされた年配の女性のお話もとても面白かったですし（ジョークがいっぱいでした）、ガーデナーさんたち（３人おられました）のお答えもとても参考になりました。
The event we attended to was “Gardeners’ Question Time” at Denmans Garden, which is very near us. When our garden designer came for tea a little while ago, she told us about the event so we bought tickets online. The lady who acted as the MC was very funny and the answers to the attendees questions by the panel of gardeners (3 of them) were very informative and we enjoyed it very much.
それにしても、もう直ぐ６月だというのに寒くて、昼間は２０度くらいまで上がるのですが夜は冷えて今日は１４度、思わず車のシートにヒーターを入れてしまいました。
It is still quite cold even though we are so close to June, it’s warm enough during the day but gets cold in the evening, I even put the seat heater on in the car when we drove home today.
