昨日までとガラッと変わって、今日の昼間は雲が多く湿度も高くむしむししていましたが、夕方には良いお天気になったので、珍しくわたしが提案してパティオで食事をすることにしました。
The weather suddenly changed today and it was grey and humid during the day. However, it became a very nice evening (though still quite humid) so I suggested for us to have our evening meal on the patio.
ここしばらく暑かったのと、手違いで早く食べなくてはいけないトマトがたくさんあるのでメインはガスパチョ。その後、サラミやチーズなど。
As it’s been warm for the last few days and also I made a mistake with ordering groceries and there are so many tomatoes in the fridge that we decided to make Gazpacho as the main dish of the evening meal. Then a little salami, cheese etc.
チーズは、左から３つはロンドンの La Fromagerie で買ってきました。左からバノン、次は覚えていないのですが、スイスのアルプスで作られたチーズ（白黴系）、ボーフォート、一番右はオックスフォードで買ったボーフォートに似エティヴァ。
The three cheeses are the ones that we bought at La Fromagerie in London – the far left one is Banon, then a cheese made in Swiss Alps (I cannot remeber the name), the Beaufort, then the last one is Etiva that we bought in Oxford.
そして、やっとファイヤー・ピットを使いました。
We used our Fire Pit for the first time, too.
デザートに、s’more。ガスの火が強すぎて、マシュマロを火につけた途端焦げてしまうので、加減が難しかったです。
We had s’more as a dessert. The gas fire is so strong that marshmallows will burn black in a second in the fire, it was difficult to make it caramelised without burning.
イギリスの夏は９時半、１０時まで明るくて、暖かい日はのんびりと外で夕食をしてお庭を眺めるのも良いものです。こんな些細なことで幸せに感じられます。
It’s light until 9.30pm or 10.00pm in the summer here. It is lovely to have a meal in our garden looking at the flowers on such a nice day. Such a simple thing can make us feel very happy.
