今日は午後から雨の予報でしたが、今のところ曇ってきていますがまだ降ってはいません。夕方から降りそうです。今日から数日は、雨が降りそう。雨が降り始める前に、とお昼過ぎに夫とお庭仕事をしました。なめくじが好きな植物（ダリアやホスタやサルビアやアネモネ）の周りに貝を潰したものを撒いているのですが、１袋（１１キロという重さ）を買って使いましたが全然足りなかったのでもう１袋オーダーし、残っていた植物の周りに巻いたり、草抜きをしたり、元気すぎるキャットミントを少しカットしたり。

The forecast said it was going to rain from the afternoon today, but so far it hasn’t started yet, I expect it’ll rain in the evening.  For the next few days it looks like we’ll see some rain.  We did some gardening thinking we should get it done before the rain starts.  We put some crushed shells around the plants that slugs love (dahlias, hostas, salvias, anemones) a little while ago but one bag (11kg!) didn’t go very far, so we ordered one more, which arrived a couple of days ago, so we put them around the rest of the plants that needed protection.  Then I did a little weeding and also cut back some of the catmints, which are expanding too much.

今日からしばらくお天気が悪そうだったので、曇ったり晴れたりだった昨日、ブルーベルを見に行きました。今年の冬は雨が多くて気温は高めだったので（今のなって寒くなってますが）春のお花が早くて、チューリップですがブルーベルも早くて、今がピークのようです。昨日行った「Arlington Bluebell Walk」は今年で３度目だと思うのですが、これまでも綺麗でしたが今年は息を呑むような美しさでした。そして、良い香りもしていました。ついつい写真をたくさん撮ってしまい、選ぶのが大変でした、これ以上減らせないのでまだ多いですがアップしてしまいます。

As the forecast says it’ll rain in the next few days, we decided to go and see bluebells yesterday, when it was cloudy with some sun now and again.  The temperature had been very mild this winter though we had lots of rain, the spring flowers are early this year.  Tulips came out very early and  bluebells are also early and seem to be the peak now.  We went to “Arlington Blubell Walk” yesterday, I think it was our 3rd time to go there.  It was always very beautiful but I think it was the best ever yesterday – we got it right this year.  It was just breathtakingly beautiful and you could smell the aroma of them, too.  I took so many photos so it took me a long time to choose which ones to keep, I couldn’t delete any more so there are still many.

車で走っていると大きなリンゴの木のお花が満開で綺麗です、ここでもりんごの木を見かけました。

When we were driving, there are quite a lot of tall and large apple trees full of blossoms, they are looking beautiful, too.  There was one here, also.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

最後に、カフェの外席でお茶。ケーキもシェアーしました、トフィーと胡桃のケーキ、だったかな？とてもおいしかったです。

Before heading home, we had tea and shared a slice of cake, I think it was toffee and walnut cake, very nice.
