先週の黄色いカラーの保ちがあまりに悪かったので、購入先のお花屋さんに「ずいぶん前からヒートウェーブが来ることがわかっているときは、カラーは良いチョイスではないと思う」ということをメールでお伝えしたところ、本来は７２時間以内に写真が必要だが今回は特別に代替え品を送ってくださるとのこと。代替え品が欲しくてクレームしたわけではなく、これから３０度を超える暑さが来るとわかっている時はカラーは選ばないでほしいとお伝えしましたが、それでも代替え品を送るとおっしゃるので有り難くいただきました。（でも、「こちらのフローリストに確認しましたが、暑くてもカラーは大丈夫だとのことです。」とのお返事でした。いやいや、実際毎日お水を変えてできるだけ少ないお水にしても毎日数本ずつ腐って行ったのですから、大丈夫じゃないです、とお返事したら、それは普段からそうだと。いや、そうじゃないですよね、普段から到着当日にお花が腐って行くなんてありえません。３３度の気温でクーラーもない中なので、いくら気をつけても腐ってしまいます。）同じお花が良いか、何か他のお花が良いかと聞いていただいたので、オーダーするつもりでいた Cherry Crush という紫陽花を送っていただきました。
I sent an email to the florist that I get flowers from about the calla lilies I received last week, saying that I didn’t think it was a good choice when they knew a heat wave as high as above 30C was coming. They replied to me that they would send me a replacement (although usually they need a photograph within 72 hours), so I replied telling them I didn’t write the email to get a replacement, I wanted them to know that some of the stems didn’t last even until the first evening and calla lilies are not good when the temperature is so high. They insisted that they would send me a replacement (and also told me they asked their florists and they were assured calla lilies are suitable for hot weather, that calla lilies have this issue whatever the weather). I told them that I could not agree that they are suitable when they go rotten within a few hours even when I changed the water every day, (sometimes twice a day, and used very little water), when the temperature is above 30C that is not usual “hot weather” they have in the UK. They asked if I wanted another bunch of calla lilies or some other flowers so I thanked them and asked them for the “Cherry Crush” hydrangeas that I was thinking of ordering next time.
