今日は夫のお誕生日。お祝いに作ったカードは、こちら。先日初めて使ったミシンスティッチと水彩を組み合わせてみました。参考にしたカードは、Jennifer McGuire さんのカードと Kristina Werener さんの水彩画のカード。簡単そうな水彩画ですが、Kristina さんが描かれるようには可愛くなりませんでした。ちなみに、最初はもっと大きな絵にしてみたのですが、大きいと全然可愛くなかったので描き直しました。黒のインクで書き足した部分とロウソクの炎の部分にはグリッターグルーをのせてキラキラさせています。

It’s my husband’s birthday today.  Here is the card I made for him.  I wanted to combine the cute watercolour painting of a cake and sewing machine stitches.  Inspiration is from Jennifer McGuire’s cards with sewing machine stitches and Kristina Werner’s watercolour card.  The watercoloured cake looks so simple and easy but it doesn’t look as cute as hers.  I first thought I’ll make it bigger and painted a much larger cake but it really didn’t look cute so I re-painted it. I guess because it’s simple it looks better small.  I put some glitter glue on the drawn parts (the decoration on the cake and the candles) and the flames.
