今日は、月１の CARPO Fleuristeでのお花のレッスンでした。レッスンで作ったのは今回もシャンペトル（フランス風の花束）ですが、茎が短いお花が入っていてお花も小さなお花なので、花束全体はいつもよりずいぶん小ぶりです。使ったお花は、なずな、ジニア、スモークグラス、エリンジウム（あざみの種類）、アスチルベ、コチュニス（暗い赤い葉っぱ）。メインになるお花があるタイプではないので、それぞれのお花や葉っぱ類を入れるバランスが難しく感じました。自分では（わたしはメインのお花を決めて他を選ぶ人なので）絶対に選ばないお花合わせで、野の花を束ねたような雰囲気です。赤い葉っぱのコチュニスは今しか手に入らない季節の葉っぱだそうです。いつものように、素敵にラッピングしていただいて持ち帰りました。
I had a flower lesson at CARPO FLUEURISTE this morning. As usual, I made a French Style bouquet (Champetre). One of the types of flowers have short stems so the bouquet was quite a small one comparing to usual. Flower and foliage used are shepherd’s purse, zinnia flower, smoke grass, sea holly and red leaves (I don’t know what they are called in English, I cannot find it out by searching….). There is no “main” flowers so I found it a little harder to get the balance of the positions right. The combination of flowers is something I would never have made by myself because I would usually choose main flowers then decide what would go with it, but it’s interesting to see different styles. As usual, the instructor wrapped it and made it look very stylish.
実は、伺ってみると夏休みでみなさんお留守らしく、結果的にはわたしひとりのプライベートレッスンでした。自分の花束が終わった後、お祝いのアレンジメント（コンポジション）を作っておられるところを拝見することができて、しかも色々説明しながら作ってくださったので思いがけずコンポジションのお勉強をすることも出来てラッキーでした。
As many people are away for summer holiday, it ended up being a private lesson just for me today. When I finished, it was raining so heavily that I waited for a while until the rain eased off a little. As I was waiting I was able to watch the instructor make a flower arrangement (she calls it “composition”) and she even explained everything as she made it, it was very lucky to be able to get this special extra lesson!
それにしても、今日はよく降りますね〜。今日は自分の花束が終わる少し前から外が真っ白になるくらいの雨になったのでしばらく待っている間に先生のコンポジションを見せていただき、作り終えられたころには雨は少しましになっていたのでタクシーを呼びましたが、何度かトライしないとだめかなと思っていたらあっさりすぐにとれました。以前はオーチャードのショッピングモールでタクシーを捕まえられず何時間も足止めを食う、などということも何度かありましたが、最近は Uber や Grab があるお陰でタクシーを捕まえやすくなって助かります。わたし自身は基本はコンフォートを使っていますが、たくさんの方が他のアプリを使われるのでコンフォートで捕まえやすくなりました。
It seems to be raining a lot today. I was a little worried if I would be able to get a taxi -both getting to the lesson and coming back – but I was able to get one both times quickly. With Uber and Grab, it got much easier to get a cab these days. I remember the time when I got stuck in a shopping mall in town for hours as I couldn’t get a taxi. So much easier these days.
