ロックダウン前には週に２度ほどスーパーで買い物をしていましたが、ロックダウン後はしばらくはデリバリーの枠が取れなかったので、クリック&コレクトと言ってオンラインでオーダーして、車でスーパーまで取りに行っていました。（人との接触なしに受け取れる仕組みになっています。）比較的最近になってデリバリーの枠が簡単に取れるようになったので、ここ２ヶ月ほどはデリバリーをしてもらっています。Waitrose はクリック＆コレクトも取れなかったですし、Ocado もデリバリー枠が取れず、Marks & Spencers の食品部門はデリバリーがないのでずっとセインズベリーを使っていたのですが、今月１日から Ocado が Marks & Spencers の食品を取り扱うようになったので主に Ocado でMarks & Spencersの食品をオーダーし始めました。
We used to do food shopping 2 or 3 times a week in some different supermarkets before lockdown but since the lockdown we couldn’t initially even get any delivery slot so we started doing “click & collect”, then a couple of months ago we changed to delivery as it had become easier to get a slot. We weren’t able to get any slot for even click & collect on Waitrose or a delivery slot on Ocado and there was no delivery of Marks & Spencers foods so we’d been using Sainsbury’s. However, from the 1st September, Ocado started to handle delivery of Marks & Spencers foods in place of their previous arrangement with Waitrose so we started ordering Marks & Spencers food from Ocado.
何度か書いたように、なかなか好みのパンが見つからず、シンガポールで買った日本製のパン焼き器で焼いたパンを主に食べてきましたが、この間そのパン焼き器が壊れてしまい、こちらで買ったらなかなか美味しいパンが焼けずに困っています。ですが、１週間前のオーダーで Marks & Spencers のチャバタ（途中まで焼いてあってあと８分ほどオーブンで焼いていただくというもの）を買ってみたところ、結構美味しいです。以前まだスーパーに行ってお買い物をしていたときに買ったことがあり、その時も思いましたが、これまでトライしたパンの中では一番好み。少しお水をスプレーしてから焼いて外側をカリッとさせていただいています。大きな長いもの、半分の長さのもの、丸いものと３種類あるようです。見た目も美味しそう。
I’ve written about this a few times, but we haven’t been able to find the bread we like in England so we had been eating bread baked in the bread machine that we brought from Singapore. Unfortunately that bread machine broke so we bought a new one here but we are really struggling to bake good bread with this new machine. A week ago when we ordered food on Ocado we ordered some Ciabatta bread from Marks & Spencers and we liked them very much. We had bought them before lockdown and I remember writing that we liked them the best of all the bread that we’ve tried here so far, and they still are. They are the type that have been baked halfway through and you bake it in the oven for 8 minutes or so to finish it off. We spray it with water before baking and it comes out nice and crispy outside and soft inside. Looks delicious, too.
