今日は、お隣のお友達と、以前そのお隣にお住まいだった共通のお友達と３人でランチをしました。場所は選んでと言われたので、チチェスターの「Joanna’s Boutique Tearoom」をご提案。女性同士の集まりに良い感じのインテリアですし、メニューのアイテムは少ないですが美味しいと思うので。お２人とも初めてだったようでした。

I had lunch with my next door neighbour friend and our mutual friend who used to live next door but one to us.  I was told to pick a place for lunch and I suggested “Joanna’s Boutique Tearoom” in Chichester as it has the sort of interior that is nice for girls’ gatherings and the food is usually very good, although the lunch menu isn’t large.  I think it was the first time for both of them to be there.

 

お１人は、エッグ・ベネディクト。美味しかったそうです。

One had Eggs Benedict, which she said was very good.

 

 

もうお１人は、ハルミチーズの上にポーチドエッグ、トマト、アボカドがのったオープンサンドイッチ、これも美味しかったそうです。

The other friend had an open sandwich with haloumi cheese, poached eggs, tomatoes & avocado.  She said it was very good, too.

 

 

わたしは、何度か食べたガーデン・クラブサンド。写真を撮る前に１口食べてしまいました、美味しかったです。

I had Garden Club Sandwich, which I’ve had a couple of times here.  I forgot to take a photo before having a bite, but it was very good, too.

 

 

夫と行くときはとても静かなティールームなのですが、今日はたまたま１２人くらいの女性グループがどなたかのお誕生日のお祝いに集まっておられ、スパークリングワインも飲まれていてどんどん賑やかになり、全く周りを気にしない大声でのおしゃべりだったので結構離れていたにもかかわらず、３人のおしゃべりがしにくいくらいでした。それでも、２時間ほど楽しくキャッチアップをしました。

When my husband and I have lunch here, it’s very quiet but there was a large group of about 12 ladies and they were celebrating a birthday of one of them.  They were having afternoon tea with sparkling wine, they got louder and louder and it was a bit much, it made it hard for us to chat because we couldn’t hear each other easily.  We still enjoyed catching up with each other for a couple of hours.
