相変わらず咳が出ますし鼻炎も酷くなっていて、これは風邪？？2週間も前にちょっと咳が出て、バリ島では大丈夫で、戻ってきて２日目に咳が酷くなって鼻炎も酷くなったので風邪にしては経過がおかしい気はするのですが。。。いつもならよく効く風邪薬も効かず、完全に鼻が詰まって口で息しなくてはいけないので夜ぐっすり眠れないし、話をすると咳が出て、とっても嫌な感じです。それに、風邪だったら誰かにうつしてしまったのではと気にかかります。

I’m still coughing when I talk and my sinusitis has gone worse. Am I having a cold?? I started having a little coughs when the packers were packing more than 2 weeks ago but I didn’t have anything in Bali, then on the 2nd day after being back to Singapore it got worse. I cannot sleep well because I have to breath opening my mouth, I cough as soon as I start talking… The medicine I take for colds that usually help a lot don’t help much, very strange. If it is a cold then I might have passed it to someone I’ve had lunch or dinner in the last week or so…

昨日は夫は会社の親しい人たちと送別会だったので、わたしはお友達数人と滞在しているサービスアパートメントでゆっくり集まりました。

My husband was out for dinner and drinking with his colleagues last night so I spent the evening with a few friends at the apartment we are staying at.

以前から気になっていた Lush Platters というケータリング会社(？)にPalm Platter という使い捨てのお皿に盛り付けられた５人から８人用のプラターをオーダーしてみました。ミートフリーのものを選び、チーズも好みを聞いていただけます。お皿にぎっしり詰まったチーズやフルーツやファラフェル、ドルマ、クラッカーなど。プレゼンテーションが素敵で一度オーダーしてみたかったのです。写真で想像していた通り素敵でしたし、美味しかったです。

I’ve been wanting to try Lush Platters’ platter for a while so I took this opportunity to try it. I chose ‘Palm Platter’ medium size, no meat option, which included a few cheeses, fruits, falafel, dolma, crackers etc. looked beautiful and tasted good, too.

わたしは他にピンクシャンパンをご用意。お友達のお１人は豪華なサラミやハムのプラター、お1人は赤ワイン、お1人はケーキを持ってきてくださいました。

I also bought a bottle of pink champagne. One friend brought a beautiful salami and ham platter, one brought a bottle of red wine and one brought a cake.

お名残惜しかったですが、最後にもう一度お目にかかってゆっくりお話しできて、とても楽しいひとときでした。わたしの娘(いませんが)くらいの年齢のお若いお友達、10歳くらいお若い方、もうちょっとお若い方と、年齢も様々で、多分日本にいたらお友達になる機会はなかったであろう方達とこうしてご縁があって嬉しく思います。最近はフットワークが軽い方も多いですし、度々海外旅行に出られる方も多いので、どなたともまたお目にかかれるのではと思っています。

It’s always hard to say good-bye but it was lovely to be able to spend an evening/night together with them again before leaving Singapore. One of them was about our daughter’s age if we had any, one is about 10 years younger than me and the other a little younger. We probably wouldn’t have had a chance to get to know each other if we’d been living in Japan. That is one of the good things about living this life.
