ガレージからリノベーションしているクラフトルームには、１つの壁一面天井までの本棚を作っていただいています。天井は低いのですがそれでもわたしでは一番上の棚まで手が届かないので、低めのそれほど場所を取らないタイプの踏み台を買うことにしたのですが、夫がイギリスの図書館で使われていた昔風のものがいいなと言うので検索してみました。イギリスの図書館で使われていたものも手に入ることは入るのですが、ビンテージであんなに小さなものにしては かなり高価なので、よく似たシェーカースタイルの踏み台をオーダーし、今朝届きました。持ち手（？）がついているので動かしやすいですし、踏み台に乗るときに手で持って支えられるようになっています。アメリカから送っていただくので送料や関税などかかりましたが、普通のものではなくちょっとお洒落っぽいものがほしいと思っていたので、気に入っています。

We are having bookshelves made on one of the walls of the craftroom all the way up to the ceiling.  The ceiling is not very high but I still cannot reach the top shelf easily so we decided to buy a low step.  My husband thought it’ll be cool to get one of those library steps and I did some search, we could have got one but they were rather expensive because they would be vintage, but I found newly made Shaker style ones in the US so that’s what we ordered.  It finally arrived this morning.  It was still quite expensive as you have to pay the shipping and import tax etc but it is very nice and a bit different, so we are happy with it.
