変なお天気で朝から曇っていて、お昼過ぎて雨が降り始め、風も強くなって嵐っぽいお天気でしたが、先ほどから急に青い空になりお庭に陽も射しています。夕方から良い天気になることが多い、今日この頃。でも、夕方になると寒いのでお庭には座れないのです。

Strange weather today.  It was grey all morning, then started to rain and got windy in the afternoon, then suddenly blue sky and sun in the evening.  We seem to be having a lot of nice evenings recently even when it’s not nice during the day – but it’s too cold to sit out in the garden by the evening.

今日はしっかりデザートまでいただいたので、夜ご飯はなし。なにかちょっとつまむだけにします。

We had a 3 course meal at lunch so no dinner, we’ll probably have some toasts or some picky things.

２週間に１度のお花が届きました、大好きな濃いピンクのピオニー でした！今回ピオニー じゃなかったら、別オーダーするつもりだったのです。今朝届いたときはどれも硬い蕾でしたが、あっという間に開いて来ています。

The subscription flowers this time were peonies in shocking pink, which I love.  I was going to order them if they weren’t peonies this time.  They were still quite tight buds when they arrived this morning, but many of them have already opened up.

１本だけ、一番大きく開いたのを小さめの花瓶に入れて、ダイニングテーブルで楽しむことにしました。リビングの特等席はお花が映えますが、遅い時間からしか見る機会がないのでもったいない気がすることがあります。ダイニングとの間のドアを開けているので、見えることは見えるのですが、あまり見る方向ではないので。

I cut one short that has opened almost fully and put it in a smaller vase and put it on the dining table.  The flowers in the above tall vase are placed in the living room and look beautiful but we don’t see them until evening and sometimes I feel we don’t see them enough.  As we usually keep the doors between the dining room and the living room open, we can see them from the dining room, but we don’t often look that way.
