今日は１ヶ月ぶりに Petworth のお肉屋さんまでお肉類を買いに行った帰り、お花を買いたかったので先日軽くランチをしたCowdray Farm Shop & Cafeに寄りました。先日行ったときに買って帰るつもりでいたのに、忘れてしまったのでした。その時は大きな紫陽花が入った花束があったのですが、今日は小さな紫陽花が入ったものが１つだけしかなかったので、その花束ともう１つ一緒に束ねられそうなお花が入った花束と２つ買ってみました。花束と言ってもガサッと束ねてあるだけでしたが。

We went to Petworth’s butcher to get meats, it’s been a month since we were there last.  I wanted to buy some flowers so we stopped at Cowdray Farm Shop & Cafe on our way home as I remembered we saw some nice bunches of flowers there last time.  We were going to buy some flowers at that time but forgot to.  Each bunch of flowers was very small so we bought 2 and I put them together at home into a spiral bouquet.

１つの花束が小さいので、２つ分を合わせてブーケに組みました。こういういろいろなお花が混ざったブーケは久しぶりで、組むのも楽しかったです。スーパーで買うものに比べて割高ですが（１束２０ポンド、３０００円くらい）、スーパーの花束には入っていないような可愛い好みのお花が入っています。形状もいろいろなものが入っているので、ブーケに組むと素敵。白いのは、まだ開いていないピオニー 。グリーンがもっと入っているともっと豪華になるのですが、グリーンはほとんど入っていませんでした。でも、葉っぱが大体処理してあるのでスーパーのもののように葉っぱの処理をしたら半分の量、なんてことはなく、２束でそこそこ素敵なブーケが出来ました。

I hadn’t made a bouquet with lots of different flowers like this, so it was fun to put them together.  Comparing to the flowers we buy in supermarkets, they are expensive (20 pounds per bunch) but as you can see the types of flowers are a little more special.  They put flowers that have differnt shapes/textures together so a bouquet looks much nicer.  The white ones are peonies (still quite tight buds).  If they had more foliage they’ll have more volume but they didn’t have much folliage included.  The leaves were already mostly stripped off so they didn’t become half the size like supermarkets’ ones so when I make them into my kind of arrangement.  The two bunches put together made quite a nice bouquet.
