お隣のお友達はご夫婦で２週間近くご旅行されていて先週末に戻られたので、お友達に「Aldingbourneにあるカフェにお茶に行ってみませんか」とお誘いいただき、午後から行って来ました。我が家から車で５、６分の距離なので、すぐ近く。何かしらの学習障害がある方達が食べ物を作ったりサービスしたりされているカフェだそうです。

Our next door neighbours were away on holiday for a couple of weeks and came back at the end of last week and my friend asked if I wanted to have tea or coffee at “Quarry Cafe” in Aldigbourne, which is only about 5 or 6 minutes away from us.  Apparently people with some learning disability produce and serve the food here.

わたしはお茶、お友達はコーヒーを飲みながらあれこれキャッチアップをして戻りました。わたしはお茶しか飲まず（ティーバッグ）お友達もコーヒーだけで食事も甘いものも食べなかったので、食べ物が美味しいのかどうかはわからないです。普通のカフェ、という感じなので、近くにいるなら寄っても良いかと。写真を撮れば良かったのですが、面白かったのは、真ん中に階段があるのですが、そこにチューブ状のスライド（滑り台）がありました。子供は楽しいでしょうね。

I had tea and my friend had coffee and we chatted for a couple of hours to catch up.  We only had tea/coffee and didn’t have any meal or cake so we have no idea what they are like, but it’s just quite an ordinary cafe so not somewhere you would take much trouble to go to, I wouldn’t think, but it was totally adequate and we could stop there for a drink if we happen to be nearby.  One interesting thing is that in the middle of the cafe there are stairs from the ground floor and there was also a tube slide, children must love it.
