今日は寒いけれど良いお天気になりました。午前中に美容院に行って、午後から少し何ヶ月ぶりかに草抜きをしました。まだ数は少ないですが長くしていなかったので結構育っているものが目立って来たので、雨が降らないうちにと１時間弱。長くすると久しぶりなのでまた足腰が痛くなるので、今日は少しだけ。

It’s cold today but is nice and sunny.  I went to a hair salon in the morning, we had a quick lunch at home, then after a little rest I did some weeding. It’s been months since I did any gardening so I did it only for a little less than an hour, otherwise I’ll have an achy body tomorrow.  Although there aren’t that many weeds yet, there were quite a few large/tall ones, some even with flowers, so I wanted to get rid of them before it rains again.

と言うことで、久しぶりのガーデン・アップデート。

So, a garden update, which I haven’t done for months.

 

フロントガーデンに咲いていたクロッカスはアップしようと思っているうちにべちゃんとなってしまいましたが、これが綺麗に咲いていたときの写真です。今日の写真は撮りませんでしたが、終わりかけのクロッカスの他にはたくさんの水仙が蕾をつけています、でもまだお花は咲いていません。バックガーデンより陽が当たるのになぜ遅いのかわかりませんが、１年若いからかもしれません。

The crocuses in the front garden are more or less gone.  I intended to write a blog about them but now they are gone, but these were the photos I took when they were looking lovely.  Now, most of the flowers have gone sideways and on the ground.  Narcissus have buds but haven’t flowered yet, even though the front garden gets a lot more sun than the back does, maybe they were planted later than the ones in the back garden.

 

 

 

バックガーデンのクロッカスはフロントガーデンより遅く咲き始めたので、今ちょうど綺麗な時。記憶が定かではありませんが、去年より随分たくさん咲いている気がします。そして、去年は小さくてあまり目立たなかったように覚えていますが、今年は随分立派。水仙も咲き始めました。ただ、水仙は咲くと頭が重くなって（多分雨と風のせいも大きいと思います）すぐに倒れてしまいます。クリスマスローズもたくさん咲いています、タネが出来そうなのもたくさんあったので、写真の後取り除きました。

The crocuses in the back garden started to bloom later than in the front garden and they are looking lovely now.  If we are right, we didn’t think there were many out last year but there are a lot this year and much larger than last year as well.  The narcissus have also started to open up, but they tend to bend and fall on the ground once the flowers are out, probably because the flowers are heavy, especially with the amount rain and wind we’ve had recently.  A lot of Christmas roses are out, too – many looked like they were going to grow seeds soon so I cut them off, as well as the old-looking leaves, after the photo was taken.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

去年、義弟夫婦にもらったムスカリ、ほったらかしていたのに咲いてくれていました。

The pot of musucari that my husband’s brother and his wife gave us has flowered, even though we didn’t look after it at all.
