今日は良いお天気だったので、ラベンダーを見に行きました。今年は、フェイスブックのフィードに入って来て、去年行った Mayfield Lavender Farm よりも更に広くて良さそうかなと思ったので、初めて「Castle Farm Lavender Farm 」に行ってみました。ちょっと遠くて片道１時間４５分くらいかかるので朝１０時半に出て、先にパブでランチをしてから行ったのですが、多分ピークは１０日か２週間くら前だったのかな、という感じ、少し行くのが遅くて半分くらい色褪せていた感じでした。広さも思っていたほどではなく、やはり「Mayfield Lavender Farm」の方が良かったかな、と思います。でも、ラベンダーの香りが辺り一面に漂っていました。このCastle Farm Lavender Farm は明日までなのですが、Mayfield Lavender Farm の方は８月末ごろまでオープンしているのでそれまでに Mayfield にも行けるといいなと思います。

It was nice weather today, so we went to see a lavender field.  We went to Mayfield Lavender Farm last year but this year we tried “Castle Farm Lavender Farm” because it looked larger.  However, I don’t think it was actually larger and it didn’t seem as nice as the Mayfield one.  Also it has passed the peak for the lavender flowers, probably the peak was about 10 days or 2 weeks ago, half of the lavenders were faded so the colour of the field wasn’t very vivid.  The whole area was smelling lovely, though.   It took us an hour and 45 minutes to get there so we left home around 10:30am, stopped at a pub nearby for lunch, then went to the farm.  Tomorrow is the last day for this farm to be open but Mayfield Lavender Farm is open until the end of August so maybe we can go there before it closes.

色があまり綺麗に出ていませんが、遠くに見えているのが Castle Farm Lavender Farm。

The colour isn’t very strong but you can just about see the lavender farm from here as we approached it.
