今日は久しぶりにお目にかかるお友達ご夫婦とBosham にある「Millstream Inn」のレストランでサンデー・ローストをご一緒しました。

We had Sunday Roast at the Millstream Inn in Bosham with our friend couple, whom we hadn’t met for a few months.

お友達の前菜、海老の天ぷら。いつものように、天ぷらと書かれていましたがフリッターです。

My friend had Prawn Tempura for a starter, of course as always they were fritters, not tempura.

 

お友達のご主人は、チーズスフレ。

Her husband had Cheese Soufflé.

夫は、スモークサーモン。

My husband had smoked salmon.

 

わたしは前菜はいただきませんでした。

I didn’t have any starter.

夫のメイン、チキンの胸肉。美味しかったと言っていました。もう少し、お野菜が添えられていれば更に良かったのですが。

My husband had Chicken Breast for the main, he said it was very good although a little more vegetables would have been nice.

お友達ご夫婦は、ローストビーフ。

Our friends each had roast beef.

 

わたしは、ローストポーク。

I had roast pork.  There was too much of everything, I think I had about a half of the pork and the carrots as well as finishing the Yorkshire pudding and stuffing, didn’t have crackling and didn’t have much of the potatoes & cabbage as they had too much butter for my liking.

 

わたしは前菜は頂かず、デザートをいただきました。スティッキー・トフィー・プディング。ソースは別添えにしていただいて、少しだけかけました。軽くて美味しかったです。小さく見えますが、結構なボリュームでした。

As I didn’t have a starter, I did have a dessert (none of the others did) – sticky toffee pudding.  I have learned to ask them to serve the sauce on the side and I drizzle on just a little as I find the sauce too sweet and too much.  The pudding itself was nice and light.  It looks small on the photo but it was quite a large portion.

 

 

クルーズ大好きなご夫婦なので、夏に行かれたアラスカクルーズとカナディアン・ロッキーの旅行のお話をお聞きしたり、クリスマスに行かれるクルーズのお話をお聞きしたりしていたら、あっという間に時間が過ぎました。楽しい一時でした。

As our friends love cruising, we talked about their Alaska cruise & Canadian Rockies trip that they had in the summer and the cruise they will be taking for Christmas.  We had a lovely afternoon.
