今日も１日どんよりな日でした、明日も似たようなお天気みたいです。まぁ、雨が降っていないだけましとしましょう。

It was another grey day today and it looks like it will be more or less the same tomorrow.  Well, better than rain, I suppose.

今日の夕食は、冷蔵庫の中のもので適当に作ったパスタでした。ニンニクのスライス、茄子とズッキーニの角切り、ミニトマトにチリオイル。香り付けにギリシャで買ったオレガノ。オレガノはまだ新鮮だからかとても香りが強いので、少しだけ。出来てから、少しだけモッツァレラの角切りを混ぜました。あっさりパスタ。とても美味しく出来ました。

Today’s dinner was pasta with what I found in the fridge – garlic slices, diced aubergine & courgette, mini tomatoes and chilli oil.  I added a little dried oregano we bought in Greece, which is very fragrant, so just a little.  When it’s all mixed up, I added just a small amount of diced mozzarella.  It was nice and light and tasty.

今日は、ハロウィーン！当日ではなくその前の日曜日にするのかな、と思っていましたが、当日のようです。わたしたちが住むところはちょっと大きめ（と言っても田舎なので小さい）道から小道に入って行き止まりになっているので外部の人はほとんど入って来ないので、トリック・オア・トリートに来るのは同じクロースに住むご家族１軒可愛い女の子２人だけなので２人分だけ用意していました。でも、夕食の時間になっても「行ってもいい？」と連絡がなかったので夫がメッセージを送ったら、「旅行してるから今年は行けないんです、子供たちはすごく残念がってます。」というお返事。用意していたお菓子、わたしたちが食べるのもなんなので、戻って来たらあげようかな。

It’s a Halloween night today. I thought they’d do Trick or Treat on the Sunday before but it looks like they do it on the actual day.  We live away from the main road (although the ‘main road’ is quite small as it’s a little village) and our street is a dead end so people don’t come in. So for Halloween trick or treating it’s only the two little girls of one of the families in the same close so we prepared trays for the two of them.  However we hadn’t got a message from their parents asking if they could come to us like we usually do, so my husband sent them a message and they replied that they weren’t coming this year as they are away and the girls are not happy about it.  Oh, well.  I think we’ll give the treats to them when they get back as we don’t want to eat them!
