ブログアップの時間がなかなか取れず、また遅れています。先ほど、遊びに来てくださっていたお友達を空港近くのホテルにお送りして（明日朝早いフライト)来ました。たくさんお料理を教えていただいたり、いろいろなところを散策して、とても楽しい数日間でした。ただ、喋りすぎて喉がおかしく、食べすぎて胃腸が痛い（笑）。
Again, I hadn’t had time for blogging for the last few days with our visitor here. This afternoon we dropped her off at the hotel she is staying tonight near Heathrow Airport (as her flight is early tomorrow). I had such a lot of fun learning cooking from her, chatting and visiting a few places together. I must admit that my throat is feeling slightly sore from talking so much, and my stomach and tummy are having some pain from eating too much every day!
水曜日は、買いたいものがあったこともあって Cowdary Farm Shop & Cafe に行って、軽くランチ。お友達は、イギリスのパブで定番のプラウマンズ、夫はチキンシーザーサラダ、わたしはひよこ豆の頃ネーションチキン風（カレー風味）のサンドイッチ。ここはサンドイッチの量が多いのでプラウマンズもすごい量が来るのではと心配でしたが、案外、普通の量でした。お友達が気に入っておられたポークパイ、ロースハム、イギリスと言えば、のチェダーチーズなど。
On Wednesday we wanted to get a few things (chicken thighs marinaded for BBQ and some cheese my friend wanted to buy) so we went to Coadray Farm Shop & Cafe and had a quick lunch at the cafe. My friend had Ploughman’s, my husband had Chicken Caesar Salad, and I had Coronation Chickpea Sandwich.
ランチの後はファームショップを少し見て（お友達は食材に興味がおありなので）、バーベキューに使いたかったマリネしたチキンだとかお友達が買いたかったチーズだとかを買ってから、Parham House に行きました。私は３度、夫は２度行ったことがあります。
Parham House & Gardens は我が家から車で１５分程度のところにあるマナーハウスで、クイーンエリザベス１世時代の１５７７年に建設が始まり、１９２２年に現在の所有者の祖父が購入し４０年かけて修復され、１９４８年から公開されているそうです。現在は Charitable Trust が所有していますが、１９９４年から今も Lady Emma Barnardさん御一家（ご主人と息子さん達）がお住まいだそうです。
After looking around in the Farm Shop and buying a few things we went to Parham House and Gardens, which is about 15 minutes by car from us. I’d been there three times before and my husband twice. Its foundation stone was laid during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I in 1577. The great-grandparents of the family, who currently live in the house, bought the Estate in 1922. Over the next 40 years, they restored the house, which had been very run down, and opened it to visitors in 1948. It is now owned by a Charitable Trust, and the family of Lady Emma Barnard (she, her husband and their sons) have lived here since 1994.
前日は２９度まで上がってすごく暑かったのですが、この日は心地良い気温に下がって良かったです。最初は曇っていましたが、午後から晴れて来ました。
It was so hot on the day before but we were glad it had gone down to comfortable temperature this day. It was cloudy in the morning but did brighten up later.
