昨日も書きましたが、土曜日から北デボン州の Appledore という街で家を借りて滞在しています。土曜日は、朝10時半ごろに家を出て、途中ランチを挟み、4時ごろに到着しました。

As I wrote yesterday, we are renting a house in Appledore in North Devon for a week from Saturday. On Saturday we left home around 10:30, had lunch in the middle and arrived in the house around 4:00pm.

ランチは、Wylye というところにある The Bell Inn というパブに行きました。イギリスのパブでは数種類の生ビールが置かれていて珍しいものも多く、ここでは このパブで作られている初めて聞くGally Bagger というビターを飲みました。

We had lunch at The Bell Inn in Wylye. In pubs in England you often see bitter on taps with unusual names and here we had “Gally Bagger”, which we’d never heard of before because it’s brewed in this pub.

夫は、スカンピ、わたしはチキン・カツ・バーガー（写真撮り忘れ）。美味しかったですが、かぶりついた途端にアッツアツの（多分）ソースがタラっと舌の上に流れてきて火傷しました（涙）。

My husband had Scampi & Chips and I had Chicken Katsu Burger (forgot to take a photo). The burger was quite good but as soon as I had the first bite some extremely hot liquid (I guess the sauce) dripped on my tongue, which burned my tongue!
