Last night we went to “Chichester Jazz Club” to listen to live Jazz, we haven’t been to one for ages. Miles Davis would have been 100 years old this year if he were still alive and there seems to be quite a lot of events about him this year, and this show was titled as “Shades Of Miles Centenary”. It’s not that I know a lot of Jazz but my husband does and he is always playing jazz so I also listen to quite a bit. I enjoyed listening to what was played yesterday because I recognised it all.
“Chichester Jazz Club” itself wasn’t what I was expecting, though. There was a little bar in a corner but it was like a room in a city hall or something. There were some tables here and there so you can put your drinks on them but it was mostly filled with rows of simple chars. The audience was also mostly elderly (I know that we are, too), which was also a bit of a surprise. I do know that Jazz is popular mainly amongst elder people but I think we see more younger people (maybe not very young but maybe around 30s or 40s) at Jazz concerts.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the live show.
