As soon as we got back home from lunch, we did some gardening for about an hour. It rained quite a lot recently so the ground was soft and so it was easier to pull the weeds out than usual.
Today’s dinner was “Air Fryer Indonesian Style Chicken Poke Bowl with Aioli, Sweet Potato, Soy Pickled Red Cabbage and Edamame” but it seemed far from “Indonesian Style” to us. I don’t think edamame, red cabbage, sweet potato or Aioli are very Indonesian and “Indonesian Style Spice Mix” smelled strongly of cumin and more like an Indian mixture. Still, it tasted OK – although we thought it needed something a little more impactful. Asian food from Hello Fresh in general is not great so we don’t often order one but this looked interesting enough. The chicken breast had skin on, which is very unusual for Hello Fresh, and the skin became very crispy and delicious in the air fryer. I also enjoyed the sauce – the mixture of sweet chilli sauce and Sambal paste – as it had a kick and actually did taste a bit “Indonesian”.
