エジンバラでの７日目は前日と打って変わって良いお天気になったので、スコッティッシュ・ボーダーズ（スコットランドとイングランドの境界の地域）にあるピーブルズ(Peebles)に出かけることに。
On the 7th day in Edinburgh, we had beautiful weather, very different from the day before – so we decided to drive to the Scottish Borders. First we stopped at Peebles.
家の近くはいつもの景色。
The usual rolling hills near the house – so beautiful.
Peebles に到着し街をぶらっと歩いてから、甥っ子とガールフレンドは別行動（ハイキングに行きました）、わたしたち４人は、まずランチ。下調べをしていなかったので適当に良さそうなお店に入りました。”Coltman’s Delicatessen, Kitchen & Bar“。後で検索して見たところ、とても評価の高いレストランでした。
We arrived in Peebls and walked in the street a little together, then our nephew and his girlfriend went off to hiking and the rest of us went in this restaurant for lunch. We hadn’t researched restaurants so we just went in the one that looked good but found out later that it has very good reviews. It’s called “Coltman’s Delicatessen, Kitchen & Bar“.
わたしは、チキン、ベーコン、卵、アボカドのサンドイッチ。パンもフレッシュで中身も美味しくバランスも良く、とっても美味しかったです！
I had Coltman’s BLT (Chicken, bacon, egg and avocado). Bread was fresh, filling was great and the balance of the bread and filling was good, it was a delicious sandwich!
夫は、ポーチドエッグ、ベーコン、ホランデーズソース。
My husband had poached eggs, bacon, hollandaise sauce.
雰囲気もサービスも良い、素敵なレストランでした。
Their decor was nice, service was good and food was excellent.
Peeblesにはツイード川という鮭で有名な川が流れていて、古くから歴史のある街。
A very famous river called The Tweed runs through this historical town of Peebles.

街歩きの後は、川沿いを歩きました。川に鴨の赤ちゃんが巣から出て泳いでいて、時々川の流れに流されそうになるのをハラハラしながら１０分ほど見ていましたが、いつまでも見ているわけにもいかず、気になりつつ先に。
Then we walked along the river. We saw baby ducks swimming near their nest in the river – we were worried they may get taken by the fast flow of the river and watched them for 10 minutes or so but we had to leave them.
そして、このあと、ボーダーズの景色の良いところをドライブ。それについては、また別に。
Then we drove to the beautiful hilly area of the Borders. I’ll post some photos of the drive later.
