一度アップしたことがありますが、少し前にお友達がシンガポールで「Tomor Tokyo Coffee」という日本のコーヒー豆のネット販売を始められました。そこで、コーヒーのテイスティングを数人のお友達と我が家でさせていただけませんか？との依頼がありました。以前書いたように数年前から酸味がとても気になってコーヒーがあまり飲めなくなったのですが（元々紅茶党ですが、それまで食後にはコーヒーを飲んでいました）、お友達が販売されているコーヒー豆は酸味が少なくわたしも美味しくいただけましたし、お友達とテイスティングも楽しそう、ということで、依頼があったお友達とさくっとランチをしてから我が家で数人でのテイスティングに集まりました。つまむものは持っていきますとのことでしたので、わたしはテーブルを整えただけでした。
I’ve written about this before but a friend of mine started selling coffee beans blended in Japan online in Singapore a couple of months ago and she asked me if I would host a gathering of coffee tasting at home with a few friends. It sounded fun so I asked a couple of friends and she asked a friend of hers and we got together this afternoon. She told me she would bring some sweets so all I had to do was to set the table.
テーブルは、コーヒー色のクロスにしました。お花のクラスで使った紫陽花がいつの間にかドライフラワーになっていて丁度コーヒー色にもぴったりの色だったので、紫陽花も飾ってみました。
I chose coffee colour table cloth and displayed the hydrangeas that had gone dry as they seem to go with brown nicely.
ちなみに、もうクリスマスツリーやクリスマスのデコレーションをお家で飾っておられる方も多いと思うのですが、我が家はまだ先。今はどうかわかりませんが、イギリスでは１１月のうちにクリスマスの飾りを出すような習慣はなかったですし、夫は早すぎると嫌がるので、もう少し近づいてから出します。
I know many people started displaying Christmas decorations but my husband doesn’t like having Christmas decorations around too early so our place has no Christmas decorations yet.
せっかくのコーヒーのテイスティングだったのに、コーヒーを淹れておられるところの写真を撮らず、とほほ、です。おしゃべりが楽し過ぎました。
I’m disappointed that I forgot to take photos while my friend was brewing coffee as that was the reason why we got together! I think I was too busy chatting…..
１枚目と２枚目の写真に写っているのは、最近購入した金属フィルターとガラスの器のセットで、今日お友達が淹れられたのは４枚目の写真の奥にかすかに写っているタイプで、今はサイトから購入出来ます。もう少し早く販売されていえればこちらを購入したのに、と残念〜。でも、買っちゃうかも。。。（笑）。いくつか違う大きさ、高さのものがあるようですが、スタイリッシュで素敵。
The glass jug and the metal filter set you see on the 1st and 2nd photo is what I bought recently and have been using to brew coffee. The metal frame with a glass jug you see on the 4th photo in the background is the type my friend used for brewing coffee today. There are a few different sizes and you can buy them from their site now – they put them on their site after I bought the jug and the filter set, I would have bought one of the ones on their site if I’d seen it earlier. Very stylish.
参加されたお友達（アメリカ人と日本人のハーフの方なので）が、「サンクスギビングだから」とパンプキンケーキを焼いて来てくださいました。ふわふわのケーキに美味しいアイシングとカリカリのパンプキンシード、とっても美味しかったです。
One of my friends I asked to join the gathering is a half American and a half Japanese so she baked a pumpkin cake and brought it to the gathering saying it was Thanksgiving. The cake is light and fluffy, the icing not too sweet and the crunches of the pumpkin seeds is such a lovely addition.
コーヒーテイスティングがメインなのかおしゃべりがメインなのかわからないくらい話も弾み、とても楽しいひとときでした。もちろん、コーヒーの感想も述べさせていただきましたが、わたしはあまり飲まない人なのであまり参考にならな方かも。でも、いらした方のうちお２人はよく飲まれる方達だったので、ご参考になったかな？
美味しいケーキやコーヒー豆などいろいろいただいて、役得でした（笑）。
The coffee tasting was fun and chatting with everyone was also lovely. We did of course give opinions about the coffee we tasted (we tasted 4 different types) – although I don’t drink a lot of coffee and my opinion isn’t very useful there were 2 coffee drinkers so hopefully it was useful for my friend.

They sell 5 different coffee beans (plus 1 coffee bag) and they are all different but most of them don’t have any acidic taste. The reason I stopped having coffee is because I really don’t like that acidic taste left in my mouth but their coffee doesn’t do that. I recommend their coffee to those who don’t like the acidity in coffee. Please check their site to find out more if you are interested. Shipping is free in Singapore so far.
