インド４日目、ウダイプール１日目。夕食は、宿泊したホテル、The Lake Palace Hotel のインド料理のレストランでいただきました。
The 4th day in India, the 1st day in Udaipur. We had dinner at the Indian restaurant in our hotel “The Lake Palace Hotel”.
ウダイプールはラジャスタンという地方にありますが、その地方独特のターリ（タリー、ターリーなど色々に書かれています）をいただくことに。ターリとは、インドの定食のようなものでしょうか。お皿の上に小さなボールがいくつも並べられていて、それぞれに何かしらカレーやチャツネなどが入っていて、真ん中にパンがのってきます。地域によって特徴が違うようですが詳しくは知りません、ここでは、スウィーツも一緒についてきました。多分、ベジタリアンとノン・ベジタリアンを１つずつオーダーして、２種類だけ違ったカレーをシェアーしたと思います。
Udaipur is in Rajasthan region and apparently their Thali is special. Thali is I guess an Indian set meal, it comes on a large plate or a tray with many small bowls filled with different curry and chutney/sauce and bread. I read that every area has their own style but I don’t know the details. This one came with sweets as well. I think we ordered one vegetarian Thali and one non-vegetarian Thali and shared 1 or two that were different.
多分普通はタリーというと、大きなお皿に色々なものが出てきて、１食完成、なのだと思いますが、ここは高級レストランだったせいか、前菜が最初に出てきました。もうあれから随分経つので、内容は余り覚えていないのですが。
I think usually Thali has all on a tray but here they served us some starters and a dessert. It’s been more than 2 weeks since we had this so I cannot remember a lot about it.

う〜ん、これは何でしょう。。。ボールに入っているのは、多分オクラのフライだと思いますす。丸いのはマッシュルームに詰め物をしたものだったような。。。
Umm… I cannot remember what this is. I think the ones in a bowl are deep-fried shredded okra. The round ones are some mushrooms with some filling, I think.
これも、さっぱり覚えていません。
I don’t remember what these are at all….
スープは、美味しかった記憶ですが、何のスープッだったのかは思い出せません。
The we had soup. This one was mine. I remember it was very tasty but cannot remember what soup it was.
多分、こちらは夫のラムのスープだったのではと思うのですが、これもよく覚えていません。
I have a feeling this one was some lamb soup and my husband liked it very much but cannot be sure.
夫のターリ。
Non-vegetarian thali for my husband.
わたしのターリ。グリーンのものは地方独特の野菜だそうで、少し酸味がある変わった味でした。真ん中にあるボールのようなものは、やはりこの地方独特のパンだそうです。これは粉っぽい感じであまり好みではなかったです。
My vegetarian Thali. The green vegetables are some regional vegetable, it tasted quite sour and unusual. The ball in the middle is a regional bread. It was very doughy, I didn’t like it.
ターリにも甘いものが入っていましたが、後でデザートもきました。左側のものはヨーグルトだか生クリームだかのデザートでわたしはいただきませんでしたが、右側のタルトのようなものは美味しくいただきました。
Although one of them was filled with something sweet, we also had a couple of desserts. The one on the left was something like yoghurt or cream flavoured with spices, which I don’t like as I don’t like things too creamy. The one on the right that looks like a tart was quite nice.
