The subscription flowers this time were Lisianthus. We had them some time ago but they were pink then, this time they are purple. As I wrote last time, lisianthus isn’t a flower that I would ever choose to get because they are used in inexpensive (and often in not so stylish) bouquets, mostly because they are inexpensive and last long. They don’t smell very nice either. The good thing about them is supposed to be they last long but the last bunch didn’t, the buds never opened and a lot of thin stems broke one after another.
In Japan, a lot of lisianthus have very large pretty flowers as they’ve been improved but the ones we received are just very ordinary small flowers that have been around at least 40 years as far as I know. I hope the buds will open this time to make them look fuller.
