旅行1日目の今日は、良いお天気になりました！

Today is the first day of our holiday to Scotland and the weather turned out to be beautiful!

1泊目は、Leamington Spa という街に泊まります。家から車で4時間ほどかかるので、2時間くらいのところにある Marlow という街のベトナム料理屋さんでランチをしました。

We are staying at Leamington Spa tonight. It’s about 4 hours’ drive from home so we had lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant in Marlow, which is about a half way.

ランチメニューにはなかったのですが野菜の揚げ春巻きをシェアーしたいと言ったところ、もちろんOKとの返事でした、これまで食べたことがある揚げ春巻きとは違う皮で厚めでしたが、カリカリで美味しかったです。

We wanted to have deep-fried vegetable spring rolls but couldn’t find them in their lunch menu – but they told us we can have it, no problem, so we shared a plate of them.

揚げ春巻きをシェアーした後、それぞれにバンミーをいただきました。夫はポークソーセージのバンミー、わたしはビーフのバンミー。具の味付けは割と美味しかったのですが、パンはベトナムのパンとはかなり違っていて、こちらのスーパーの普通のフランスパンだったのでバンミーとは違う感じはしましたが、ロンドンじゃないし、仕方ないところかな、と思います。他にはガス入りのお水大瓶1本をシェアーして、サービスチャージを入れて27ポンド（4200円）でした。

After that, we each had a Vietnamese sandwich, my husband had pork sausage filling and I had beef filling. They tasted good but the bread was very different from real Vietnamese bread, which makes it special, it was just ordinary English French Bread you get in supermarkets. Still, it was good enough. Outside London we cannot expect a real thing. We shared a large bottle of sparkling water and the bill was 27 pounds including service charge.

Marlowの街はサッと車で通っただけなのですが、とても素敵でした。家から2時間は日帰りにはちょっと遠いかなと思いますが、一度ゆっくりと街を歩いて見たいなと思いました。

We just drove through Marlow but it looked very nice. 2 hours from home is a bit far for an easy day out, but it’ll be nice to mooch in the town one day.
