Big Lunch At Purchases

When we had a couple of big restaurant lunches recently we said how we enjoyed them so we had one again today at “Purcahses”, where we had a birthday lunch last month.

My husband had Pork Belly Terrine for a starter.

I had “today’s soup” which was Butternut Squash.  The croutons were too salty but the soup itself was quite good – except that I don’t enjoy truffle oil, they didn’t mention it when they told me what today’s soup was.  I didn’t use to dislike it but they use it all the time in Singapore and I got tired of it – it’s very strong and not something you should have often, I feel.

For the main we both had Beef Blade With Pea Risotto.  It’s the same dish as I had last time there, but it was slightly different, instead of pea puree butternut squash puree was used and there was some pea puree incorporated in the risotto, I personally preferred today’s.

For dessert I had the same as the last time again, Lemon Curd Semifredo with Raspberry Sorbet.

My husband had Chocolate Sphere.   The staff poured hot sauce over, which make the chocolate melt and ice cream comes out.

With a bottle of sparkling water, 2 glasses of red wine (1 large, 1 small), one double espresso for my husband, it was 83 pounds including tax and service.
