ブリストルは結構大きな街でレストランやカフェも沢山あって迷いましたが、今日のランチはイーストンという地域にある「The Garden Of Easton」に行きました。ホテルからは少し離れていて車で10分ほどかかるところだったので、ウーバーで往復しました。予約入れられずウォークインのみ。ほとんど満席だったのですが、運よく1つだけ2階のテーブルが空いていてすぐに座れました。カフェの中は、ジャングルのよう。
Bristol is quite a large city and there are many places to eat – and I found many I wanted to try, one which, “The Garden Of Easton” we went to for lunch today. It was too far to walk from the hotel, about 10 minutes by car, so we used an Uber both ways. They don’t accept bookings, walk-in only. It was nearly full but they found a table upstairs for us so we were able to sit straight away. Inside the cafe looks like a jungle with pots of plants everywhere.

お好み焼き（セイボリー・ジャパニーズ・パンケーキ）がどんなものかとても気になり食べてみたかったのですが、食べられないほどおいしくないと嫌なのでやめておきました。
We saw “Savoury Japanese Pancake (Okonomiyaki)” on thier menu. We were very curious what it was like and really wanted to try but we were afraid it may not be good so we didn’t.
夫は、ターキッシュ・ブレックファースト。
My husband had Turkish Eggs.
わたしは、チャバタのベーコンとトマトのサンド。ベーコンが多すぎましたが、パンも添えてあったサラダも美味しかったです。ただ、手で持って食べたかったのですが液体がポタポタ落ちて来て（多分トマトから）中身も出てきたりで食べにくすぎて諦めて、ナイフとフォークでいただきました。
I had Chiabata grilled bacon & tomato sandwich. Too much bacon but it was very good, the side (cabbage salad?) was also very nice. The only thing is that it wasn’t possible to eat with my hands because a lot of liquid kept dripping and also the filling kept coming out, so after a few bites I had to eat it with a knife & fork.
このカフェがあるイーストンは比較的最近までかなり危ない地域だったらしく、最近になっていくつかカフェなどがオープンして雰囲気が変わり不動産の値段が急に上がっているところだそうです。この通りにはいくつかインド料理のレストランがあったり、スーパーがあったり。ちょっとシンガポールを思い出しました。とはいえ、まだまだ危ない場所もあるらしいので注意が必要なようです。
Apparently, Easton used to be very dangerous area but it’s been gentrified recently and a few cafes and restaurants have popped up and the property prices have gone up dramatically. I saw some Indian restaurants and supermarkets along this particular street and reminded me of Singapore a little. However, apparently there are still dangerous areas around here so you need to be careful.
