今日は、香港時代からのお友達ご夫婦とランチをしました。両方の家の大体真ん中辺りにある「Crouchers Orchards」というホテルの「Potager」というレストラン。お友達ご夫婦のお友達数人がとても良かったとおっしゃっていたので行ってみたのでした。
We had lunch with our friends from Hong Kong time at “Potager” in Crouchers Orchards, which is between their house and ours. Apparently a few of their friends said good things about this place so we thought we’d try it.
夫は、ビーフパイ、とてもおいしかったそうです。お友達のご主人も同じビーフパイでした。
My husband had Beef Pie, which he said was very good. My friend’s husband also had the same pie.
わたしは、チキンカツのバーガー。なのですが、残念ながら臭みが強くてほとんど食べられませんでした。チップス（フライドポテト）はとても美味しかったです。お友達は、フィッシュグージョンをオーダーされていました。
I had Chicken Cutlet Burger. Sadly, the chicken was very strongly gamy and I wasn’t able to eat it. Chips were very nice, though. My friend had Fish Goujon Sandwiches.
夫は、デザートにトリクルタルトをオーダー。お友達のご主人も同じ。
My husband had Treacle Tart for dessert.
わたしはチキンバーガーをほとんど食べられなかったので物足りなかったので、甘いデザートではなく、チーズをいただきました。
As I wasn’t able to eat much of the chicken burger, I didn’t want anything sweet so I had the cheese board.
お友達ご夫婦はクルーズが大好きで去年は５、６回クルーズ旅行に出ておられます。実は、少し前に以前から考えていたクルーズを予約したので、色々とクルーズのことをお聞きしてきました。わたしは事前にしっかりとリサーチしたい人なのでもう既にユーチューブでたくさんのビデオを見ているのでずいぶん知識はありますが、夫はあまり事前リサーチをしないひとなので、お友達と話しをしている間にイメージが湧いて来て楽しみになって来たようで良かったです。お２人は、３月にカリブ海、夏にアラスカに行かれるそうです。わたしたちは４月に地中海、まだ暑くならないうちに、そして海が荒れる確率が低い時期にしました。クルーズについては、また近いうちにゆっくり書きたいと思います。
These friends love cruising and they went 5 ot 6 cruising trips last year. After thinking about it for quite a long time, my husband and I finally booked a cruise just the other day so we talked a lot about the cruise. I’m one of those people who has to research before a holiday and have watched so many videos on Youtube and have a very good idea about how it’s going to work and what to do and what not to do, but my husband doesn’t do much research in advance so it was good to talk to them, it looks like he is having better idea about it and is now looking forward to it. They are going to Caribbean in March and to Alaska in the summer. The cruise we booked is in April to the Mediterranean, hoping it’s not hot yet and isn’t very likely to have a rough weather. I’ll write about the cruise more thoroughly sometime soon.
