今年はチューリップが咲くのがすごく早いと思います。わたしたちがチューリップを植えたのは多分去年と同じく1月に入ってからのことで、どちらかと言うと遅めの時期に植えているので（イギリスではチューリップは遅めに植える方が腐る心配が減るので良いと言われています）植えた時期が早かったからではないので、やはり暖冬のせいかと思います。アランデル城のチューリップフェスティバルも去年は4月14日オープンでしたが、今年はイースターマンデー（この週末明けの月曜日）にオープンするそうで、先日、アランデル城の入り口の近くを通ったら門の外のチューリップが満開でした。

Tulips are flowering very early this year. We planted them in early January so not very different from last year, we try not to plant them too early because they have less chance to get rotten with wet weather (although this year it’s been wet all the way). The tulip festival of Arundel Castle started on the 14th April last year but it starts on this coming Monday this year so it’s more than 2 weeks early. When we drove near Arundel Castle Main Entrance the other day, we saw a lot of tulips in full bloom right outside the entrance.

離れたところにある方のパティオのポットのチューリップは随分咲いていて、わたしたちが戻る頃には終わっているかも知れません。

Many of the tulips in one of the pots on our far patio are more than a half fully open, they may have finished by the time we come back.

右のポットと左のポットと結構差があります。

There is quite a big difference between the right pot and the left pot.

家の近い方のパティオのポットのチューリップは、もう少しで開きそう！フロントポーチのポットのチューリップはまだ蕾が固かったです。

The tulips in the pots on the patio close to the house are nearly open but not quite. The ones in the front porch are still not ready to open, the buds are still looking quite tight.
