After the walking tour yesterday, we went back to a bag shop that we had seen on the way because I saw a bag I quite liked and my husband bought it for me. This was the first ‘proper’ shopping we did. We have bought some snacks but nothing much because our luggage is pretty full. It was difficult to know what sort of weather we’d have over the tweo weeks so we needed to be prepared with all sorts of clothing.

We then went back to the main street, sat at one of the cafes along the wall and had some drinks (beer for my husband and water for me) and had a little rest before we went to have lunch.

We then walked to a place where you can get some speciality of Croatia, “beef sausage sandwich” that I saw on a video on youtube. We walked about 20 minutes in quite hot weather (the sun was so strong, even with my parasol I got very hot) and found the place was closed! Even if it were open, though, I’m not too sure if we would have eaten it there because it was one of those hot dog or burger places at a beach.
There were quite a few people in the sea as it’s been hot, it looked like it’s very shallow for quite a way out.

So, we had to walk all the way back to where we’d had our cold drinks, where many cafes are lined up along the wall in the old city for 20 minutes again. I did have my parasol up but it was still pretty hot. It was probably about 25C but there was no cloud in the sky and the sun was so strong.
What I don’t understand is that the local people are walking in their light down gilet or down jacket without a parasol or even a hat, looking very cool, no sweat!

Cevapcici is sausages without skin, more like kebab than sasages I would say. I heard it was spicy (not hot spicy but lots of spices are mixed in) but these weren’t very spicy, actually quite mild. They were fine but I didn’t think there was anything special. The red paste is made of roasted red pepper. We both ordered the same dish. My husband had most of it but I managed to have just 3 sausages. Onions were too strong.

My husband had beer, I had water and we also ordered bread – and it was 45 Euro (£38) including tip. Not bad in pounds.
After lunch we walked to our ship. As we walked up and down to the place, where we thought had sausages, so we walked 13,000 steps yesterday.
