数日前、フロントガーデンで１つだけクロッカスの蕾を見つけたのですが、今日はぽつぽつと咲いていました。バックガーデンにもたくさん咲くはずですが、まだまだ蕾もついていません。
I saw 1 bud of crocus a few days ago in our front garden but there are a few out today. There should be many in the back garden as well but no buds at all yet.
こちらは１週間ちょっと前に撮った、バックガーデンのお花。スノードロップが可愛らしく咲いています。多分、３年に渡って合計４００株は植えたと思うのですが、数えるほどしか咲いていません。去年植えたした時、来年余り咲かなかったら諦めようと思っていたのですがやはりスノードロップには向かない環境みたいです。
These photos were taken a week or so ago in the back garden. Some snowdrops are out and looking pretty but only some. I think we planted many in the last 3 years – probably more than 400 of them in total, but there aren’t actually many out. Last year when we added some more we thought maybe we’d give up on them so I think we will. I presume our garden isn’t suitable for snowdrops.
この時期、他に咲いているのはクリスマスローズくらい。まだまだ寂しいお庭です。
Other than snowdrops and some shoots of crocuses, the flowers we can see are only Christmas roses, so the gardens are still looking very bare.
