今日はお天気が悪く（さっき、少し太陽が顔を出していました、これからお天気、良くなるようです）、気温も２０度程度と低めで風もあって、薄手の長袖のシャツを着ていましたが少し肌寒く感じました。

The weather isn’t great today (there was a short sunny period that I saw and it’s supposed to get better later today) but the temperature is only about 20C so it felt on the chilly side with a very light long sleeve shirt.

お昼前に出かける用があったので、ついでにラスティントンの Fig. というカフェにランチに行きました。夜はタパスレストランになり、昼間はカフェで、タパスも一度行ったことがあり、まずまず美味しかったのですが、雰囲気が夜のディナーに行きたいという雰囲気ではないのでその後行っていないのですが、少し前にお昼に行ってみて割と良かったので今日も行ってみました。結構混んでいましたが、中のテーブルに座ることが出来ました。ただ、クーラーのすぐそばで、この気温でなぜかクーラーが入っていて寒かったです、香港を思い出しました（笑）。この間まで暑かったので、そのまま入っているのでしょうが、今日は必要ないはず。

We had to be out a little before lunch time so we went to “Fig” in Rustington for lunch.  This place becomes a Tapas Restaurant in the evening but is a cafe until then.  We’d been there once in the evening and their tapas was good but the atmosphere isn’t what we would look for in a dinner place so we haven’t been back, but we were there a little while ago for lunch and thought it was quite good so we went back.  It was quite busy but we were able to take a table inside – though it was very near an air conditioner so very cold, it reminded me of Hong Kong!  It was warm for a while so I guess they are keeping the air conditioning on but I didn’t think it was necessary today.

 

夫は、アボアドのマッシュをトーストに載せて、チョリソー、ポーチドエッグ、ゴートチーズが載ったもの、少し味見しましたがとても美味しかったです。

My husband had Mashed Avocado on Toasts with poached eggs, chorizo and goats cheese.

 

 

わたしは、ファラフェルとロースト野菜のレモン風味のサラダとフムスにしました。まずまず、美味しかったのですが、ローストした野菜の量が少なかったのと全体にドレッシングがかかっていませんでした、レモンをかけて食べろといういことなのだなとは思いましたが、塩胡椒が必要。

I had Falafel & Roast Vegetable Salad with lemony dressing and humus.  It was nice but there wasn’t much of the roasted vegetables and the salad didn’t seem to have a dressing – I guessed I’m supposed to squeeze the lemon wedges all over but it needed seasoning.

夫のもわたしのも結構なボリュームでお腹がいっぱいになったので、夜は軽く済ませる予定です。

Both of our dishes were quite filling so we both felt full after the lunch so we’ll just have a very light supper.

 

 

夫はカプチーノ、わたしはガス入りのお水をオーダーして、全部で36ポンド（７０００円ちょっと）。日本円だと高いですが、イギリスではパブで食べてももっとかかるので、平均的なお値段ではないかと思います。

My husband had a Cappuccino and I had a small bottle of sparkling water and the total bill was £36.  It sounds very expensive in Japanese yen but in England I think this is average, and it costs more in pubs.
