昨日の Chichester Jazz Club での演奏は、「Leon Greening & Steve Fishwick Quartet (Soul Time)」でした。大体３週間に１度くらい演奏があるのですが、いつも満席、またはほぼ満席になっています。以前も書きましたが、観客はわたしたちくらいの年齢から上の方達がほとんど。ジャズを好むのがそういう年齢なのでしょうね。所謂イージージャズではなく、どう説明すれば良いのかわからないのですが、結構本格的なジャズなので、中には「思ってたのと違った」とブレイクの時に帰る方もたまにおられますが、全体的にはみなさんとても楽しんでおられます。

The performers at Chichester Jazz Club last night was the “Leon Greening & Steve Fishwick Quartet – Soul Time”.  In general, there is a performance here every 3 weeks or so, but whenever we are there it looks like it’s full or nearly full.  As I wrote before, most of the audience is our age or older, I guess that’s the people who love jazz.  It’s far from the “easy jazz” type of jazz, and there were some people who left during the break saying it wasn’t what they thought it would be, but most people seemed to really enjoy it.
