今日はジム以外出かけなかったのですが、とっても良いお天気でした。でも、気温は低く、昼間の気温も１５度、夕食の準備を始める頃には１０度に下がっていました。なので家の中にいても薄寒くてクラフトルームの床暖房を入れました。。昨日は夜、テレビを見る時には暖炉もつけました。いつもは、いつ頃入れてるかなと夫と話して、今、ブログを検索したら、去年は9月24日に今日と同じようなことを書いていました。今年は比較的9月は暖かかったのですが、数日前に急に寒く感じるようになりました。これから、あまりお天気がよくない日が増えそうです。今頃になると、1月、2月はどこか暖かくて明るいところに行きたいなぁ、と思いますが、かなり遠くまで行かないと暖かいところはないので諦めムード。でも、今年は11月は1ヶ月日本で過ごすので、イギリスよりは暖かい。
We didn’t go anywhere other than our gym but it was very nice and sunny today. However, it was quite cold, reaching only 15C during the day and was 10C by the time we started cooking dinner – so it felt cold at home and we now have the floor heating on in my craft room. We also used the fireplace last night when we watched TV. My husband and I couldn’t remember when we usually put the heating on and I searched on my blog and found out the post that I wrote similar thing (put the under floor heating on in my craft room and used the fire place) on the 24th September last year. We did have a warmer September this year and it suddenly started to feel colder just a few days ago. It looks like we’ll be having more rainy days from now on. This time of year I start wishing we could go somewhere warm and bright in January & February but you need to fly a long way to be able to get to such a place so we’ve kind of given up the idea. At least we’ll be in Japan for a whole month of November so it should be warmer there than England.
今日の夕食は、メロンと生ハムの前菜とスモーキートマトスープでしたが、スープの写真は撮り忘れていました。１週間ほど前に買ったメロンが美味しかったのですが結構大きくて、やっと食べ切りました。スモーキートマトスープは、マークス＆スペンサーのスープミックスという豆類などのパッケージに書かれていたrレシピなのですが、美味しくて定番になっています。豆類のパックは買わずに、それぞれの豆や麦を家でミックスして使いました。とても美味しかったです。寒くなって来て、スープが美味しい季節になりました。
Today’s dinner was Melon & Ham for a starter then Smoky Tomato Soup – but I forgot to take a photo of the soup. The melon we bought about a week ago was very nice and we enjoyed it but it was quite large so we just finished it today, having had several servings from it over the past few days. The smokey tomato soup recipe was on the package of Soup Mix from M&S and it has become our go-to soup as it is very tasty, we did stop buying the Soup Mix, though, and bought different beans/peas/barley so we can mix them ourselves for this soup. It was very tasty and warming – it feels like soup season now.
前回、メロンを細長い状態で使ったらお皿に余白がありすぎたので、今回はメロンは一口サイズに切りました、生ハムの下に隠れています。
Last time I plated slices of melon without chopping but thought it looked a little strange on a plate so this time I cut them up into a bite size pieces, they are hidden under the ham.
