Soup & Salad

昨日の夕食は、スープとサラダ。スープはミネストローネ。冷蔵庫のお掃除という感じの残っていたお野菜あれこれのスープ。玉ねぎ、長ネギ、にんじん、じゃがいも、かぼちゃ、キャベツ、缶トマトを入れました。最後のパルメジャーノチーズを削って入れて出来上がり。

The dinner last night was soup and salad.  Soup was Minestrone – I used what was left in the fridge mostly – with onion, Japanese leek, carrot, potato, Japanese pumpkin, cabbage, tin tomato.  Some grated Parmigiano Reggiano on top.

サラダは、洋梨、焼いたカマンベールチーズ、生ハム、キャラメライズしたクルミのサラダ。溶かしてキャラメル色になったお砂糖にクルミを入れてカリッとさせて使いました。

The salad was western pear, grilled Camembert cheese, Parma ham and caramelised walnut salad.  I malted and caramelised sugar, then poured some walnuts in to coat the nuts with sugar then poured them out on a baking sheet so the walnuts are sweet and crunchy.
