今日夫が作ってくれたのは、パスタのミートボールソースでした。大昔から作ってくれている夫の得意料理です。英国のDelia Smithのレシピですが、元のレシピはとても大きなミートボールで一口ではとても食べられない大きさでした。夫に何度も小さく作るようお願いしてだいぶん小さくなっていましたが、今日はさらに小さく作ってもらい、やっとわたしの好みの大きさになりました。元のレシピの４分の１くらいの大きさだと思います。これなら切らずに一口でいただけます。

The dinner my husband cooked today was Pasta with Meatballs.  Original recipe is from Delia Smith’s large cookery book and he’s been cooking this for many years.  I’ve been asking him to make the meatballs smaller and he has been trying, but they were still too large to eat in one monthful without cutting, so I asked again to make them smaller – and finally they are small enough for me to eat in one mouthful, much easier to eat with pasta.  I think the size is about a quarter of the size that Delia Smith specifies in the recipe.
