Sausages and green lentils with tomato salsa (Salsicce con lenticchie verdi e salsa di pomodoro)

今日夫が作ってくれた夕食は、ジェイミー・オリバーの「Sausages and green lentils with tomato salsa (Salsicce con lenticchie verdi e salsa di pomodoro)、つまりソーセージとレンティルのトマトソース添え。

Today’s dinner my husband cooked was Jamie Oliver’sSausages and green lentils with tomato salsa (Salsicce con lenticchie verdi e salsa di pomodoro)”.

Sausage was roasted in the oven and lentils were cooked separately with onion and herbs.  It’s served with tomato salsa (thick tomato sauce with chilli).  He also served some steamed broccolini.  Vegetables are often served in a separate bowl/plate in Italy.

Sausage was Cumberland sausage.  It was nice and crispy outside, very nicely cooked.  Lentils with tomato salsa was also good, but there were too many lentils, I’ll use the left-over lentils for a salad sometime this week.  (Lentils were from Umbria, that our Italian friend gave us.  They have skin on so don’t get mushy after cooking.)

This is how I’m using the Christmas Wreath I made at a flower class the other day at the moment on the table.

    Hi Yumiko,

The lentil mixture looks really yummy, perhaps you can send me the recipe. Also what type of lentils did you use, you mentioned they had skin on.

Hope all ok with you both.

Hi Penny, just click the link, it’ll take you to the recipe. You can use French Puy Lentils if yo cannot get Italian ones. They are very similar.
