Terra – Tokyo Italian

昨日の夕食は、Terra に行きました。日本に1ヶ月行っていたのでしばらく行っていなかった気がしましたが、日本行きの直前に行ったので前回から2ヶ月も経っていませんでした(笑)。なので、前回と被っているものが多かったです。

We went to Terra, Tokyo Italian, yesterday for dinner.  We felt we hadn’t been there for a little while but that was because we were away, we were actually there just before I left for Japan so it had been less than 2 months since we were there last.

グリーンピースの冷たいスープ。いつものデミタスカップではなく、グラスに出てきました。

Cold green pea soup, not in a demitas cup like usual, it was in a glass yesterday.

夫の1皿目、かつおのカルパッチョ。

My husband’s first dish was Bonito Carpaccio.

わたしの1皿目。ホワイトアスパラガス、生ハム、玉子、ブラタチーズ。

Mine was white asparagus, Parma ham, egg & Buratta cheese.

夫の2皿目。かさごときす。

My husband’s 2nd dish.  2 pieces of fish – Scorpion fish & Sand Borer.

わたしの2皿目、和牛のシチュー。和牛のシチューは脂身が多くて、わたしにはヘビー。

My 2nd dish was Japanese Wagyu Stew.  I find Japnaese wagyu in Singapore too fatty, specially for stewing.

夫の3皿目のパスタは、蟹のパスタ。

My husband’s 3rd dish was Crab Pasta.

わたしのパスタは、たけのこととグリーンアスパラガス。

Mine was pasta with bamboo shoot & green asparagus.

4皿目は2人同じもので、和牛ときのこのリゾット。

4th dish for both of us – Japanese Wagyu beef & mushroom risotto.

卵の黄身を乗せて、バルサミコ酢と。

Served with an organic egg yolk & balsamic vineger.

夫のメインは、お魚とホワイトアスパラガス。お魚が何だったか。。。

My husband’s main dish was some sort of fish, I cannot remember what.

わたしのメインは、イベリコ豚。日本で食べるイベリコ豚は美味しいのですが、なぜかシンガポールで食べるイベリコ豚は臭みが気になり苦手です。

Mine was Iberico Pork.  I don’t know why but Iberico pork in Japan is delicious but Iberico pork I’ve had in Singapore tend to be too gamy for me.

デザートは、オレンジの形をしていました。前回はレモンでした。ホワイトチョコレートの型に中身はクリームやオレンジの皮など。

Dessert was an orange-looking one.  Outside is a shell of white chocolate (made to look like orange), which is filled with some cream, orange zest etc.  (It was lemon last time.)

プティフールは、手作りのカステラとチョコレートトリュフ。

Petit four was homemade Castella & chocolate truffle.

ガス入りのお水1本、赤ワイン(140ドル)、夫はエスプレッソを食後にいただいて、578ドル(47,400円ほど)。

パスタがとても美味しかったです。昨日はお肉(和牛だったのでヘビーでした)が結構出てきたのでお腹がいっぱいになってしまい、途中夫に手伝ってもらいましたし、最後のポークは1切れ残してしまいました。和牛は日本でいただくときはフィレ肉のあまりさしが入りすぎていないものを選びますが、こちらでは多分脂の多い部位を使われていたのだと思います。

We had a bottle of sparkling water and a bottle of red wine (S$140) to share.  My husband had espresso after the meal as well and the bill was S$578.  My favourite dish was the pasta dish.  They served me a lot of Japanese Wagyu beef, which is often too heavy for me, so I was too full to finish everything.  I had to ask my husband to help me with some and I also left a piece of pork.  I do love Japanese beef as I’ve written many times but some of it has too much fat for me.

      As it’s Italian, his cooking style is on a simple side (which is great), but in terms of ingredients it is fancy, I suppose. Yes, the dessert was quite special.
