今日も度々陽が射す良いお天気でした。夜、ゴミ出しに出た夫が星がすごくきれいだと言っていました。田舎の村で街灯もほとんどないので、星はすごく綺麗に見えます。
It was another nice day with quite a lot of sunshine. When my husband took the rubbish out at night, he told me the sky was full of stars. As we live in a little village in the countryside, there are hardly any street lights nearby so you can see the stars very well.
今日も、午後から3時間ほど夫と一緒に荷物整理をしました。この間、あと20箱くらいかなと書いましたが、とんでもなかったです(笑)。今日の成果は、これだけ。13箱かな?食器類やキッチンのものだけでまだあと20箱以上残っているようでした。とはいえ、パッキング材がいっぱいで中身はそうでもないのです。
We did unboxing again in the afternoon probably for about 3 hours. I wrote before that we had maybe 20 more boxes to do, but I was quite wrong! These are what we finished with just today- maybe 13 or 14 boxes? There are still more than 20 boxes left in the storage room upstairs. Mind you, they are mostly full of packing materials – sometimes we find only two small things in one box and the rest is just packing materials.
これまでの引越しではほとんど割れたものはなかったのですが、昨日と今日で6つくらい、それも結構高価(と言ってもしれてますが)なものや簡単に買えないものが割れていて悲しい。引っ越してきてすぐに荷物を開けられなかったので保険がかかっているとは言っても、今からクレーム出来ませんしね。
Until now we had hardly anything broken in our past house moves, but yesterday and today we found about 6 broken items. Some of them are relatively expensive, and some aren’t easily available. As we weren’t able to open the boxes soon after we moved, even though we did pay for the insurance, I don’t think we can claim them now.
さて、今日のディナーは、Hello Fresh の 「Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower (with Lentil and Coconut Dal)」(ターメリック風味のカリフラワーのロースト、レンティルとココナッツのダール)でした。実はこれは、まだコテージにいた時にオーダーしたものなのですが、すぐに傷むものはなさそうだからと先延ばしにしていて、自宅に戻った先週月曜に作ろうと準備を始めてからスパイスなどの材料をコテージに忘れて来てしまったことに気づいたのです。車で片道1時間半なので普通の状況なら数日内に取りに行くのですが、何しろ外出禁止なのでそれも出来ず。その日は諦めて他のものを作りましたが、カリフラワーを使ってしまいたかったので、ちょっと前にお買い物をしたときにこのレシピに必要なカレー粉やココナッツミルクや傷んで来てしまっていたほうれん草を買っておきました。
Today’s dinner was Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower (with Lentil and Coconut Dal) Roasted Cauliflower (with Lentil and Coconut Dal). We ordered this meal set when we were still in the cottage in the New Forest but we ended up not using it because we had left-over of some other meals and this didn’t have ingredients that would go off quickly. However, when we decided to cook it on the day we got back home here, we realised that we’d left things like spices for this behind in the cottage. If the situation weren’t what it is, we would have gone back to the cottage in the following few days and retrieved them, but we haven’t been able to do that as we are on lockdown. We cooked something else on that day, but we later bought a few things like curry powder, coconut milk and spinach (as the one we had was getting a bit too old) so we could cook it another day.
カリフラワーにターメリックと塩胡椒をしてローストしたものを、玉ねぎ、人参、生姜、ニンニクをカレー粉で炒めてココナッツミルクと野菜ストックを加えてレンティルを加えて少し似たものに添えます。わたしはご飯と一緒にカレーのようにして食べたいと思いましたが、このままでもとても美味しかったです。少し残っていますので、余ったココナッツミルクを足して明日のランチにする予定です。
You roast califlower with turmeric, salt & pepper and put on top of the daal which is made with onion, carrot, ginger, garlic, curry powder, and lentils in coconut milk and vegetable stock. I would have liked to have it with rice but it was very good as it was. There is some left so we’ll add some more coconut milk and have it for lunch tomorrow.
