香港やシンガポールではダイニングルームとリビングルームが広い続きのお部屋だったので、ダイニングテーブルには大きな花束を飾ることが多かったのですが、今のダイニングルームは以前に比べて狭いせいかダイニングテーブルのサイズは少し大きくなったくらいなのに大きな花束を飾ると違和感があります。なので、今、大きな花束はリビングルームかキッチンに飾り、ダイニングテーブルには小さなお花を飾っています。

In Hong Kong and Singapore, the dining and living room were in one room and it was quite spacious so I used to put a large bouquet on the dining table, but the dining room here is relatively small.  I guess that is why a large bouquet looks wrong on the dining table now even though our dining table is slightly larger than the one we used to have.  So I use only a few small flowers for the dining table now.

今日は、フロントガーデンの白い小さなバラとピンクのブラックレースを少し切って飾ってみました。あまり種類はないですが、自分のお庭のお花をちょっと切って飾ることが出来るのは、とても嬉しいです。

Today, I cut some small white roses and a couple of black lace elder from our front garden.  There aren’t a lot different kinds of flowers here but I’m very happy that we can cut some flowers from our own garden to decorate our house.
