Chicken and Bacon Veg Toss (and Creamy Pesto Chicken and Pancetta Pasta Salad)

今日の夕食は、Hello Fresh の「Chicken and Bacon Veg Toss (and Creamy Pesto Chicken and Pancetta Pasta Salad) 」。(チキンとベーコンと野菜のサラダとクリーミーなペストチキンとパンチェッタのパスタサラダ)。

Today’s dinner was “Chicken and Bacon Veg Toss (and Creamy Pesto Chicken and Pancetta Pasta Salad)”.


We didn’t read the description very well and thought we ordered some sort of Pasta Bake, but it was actually “Chicken and Bacon Veg Toss” for a dinner and “Creamy Pesto Chicken and Pancetta Pasta Salad” for lunch on the following day.  It took us a while to understand it all because we weren’t somehow expecting to cook 2 things at the same time.  What you do is to cook pancetta and chicken and keep a half for the lunch next day and also roast vegetables and keep a small portion of them for the lunch, then mix dinner ingredients together and toss it with a mixture of sauce and make another sauce for the pasta dish.


We had two problems.  Broccoli pieces were cut too long ago that the cut parts were all black and I had to cut off the end of each piece and discard the ends.  Also the Cavolo Nero was even worse, even when I cut the ends they were black all the way through in the middle – too old to eat, so we threw them all away.  We didn’t have anything similar at home so just used some red pepper instead.


We felt that the recipes were not written in the way that we can understand quickly as we cooked, we had to stop and think what goes where.


Today’s dinner, which was Chicken and Bacon Veg toss was just a mixture of cooked chicken pieces, pancetta and oven roasted potato and broccoli with a dressing of mustard, honey and olive oil.
