昨日の夕食のソーセージの煮込みが結構余っていたので、ランチではなく今日の夕食に卵を落としてシャクシュカにすることに。玉ねぎ、ニンニク、フレッシュチリを炒めたところに昨日の残りを入れて、お水とクミンパウダーを加えて少し煮詰め、卵を落として蓋をして出来上がり。シャンツァイがなくて残念でしたが、美味しくいただきました。(卵は1個、失敗して割れてしまいました。こちらの卵、殻がすごく薄いものが多くて、数回叩くつもりで軽く叩くと割れてしまう、という失敗が多々。)
As there was quite a lot of last night’s Sausage Casserole left, rather than for lunch, we used it to make Shakshuka for dinner. I sauteed onion, garlic & a little fresh chilli until the onion was nice and soft, added water and cumin powder, let it cook for a while and dropped 2 eggs in, covered the pan with a lid and let them cook. Sadly one of the eggs broke. I find many of the eggs we get here have such thin shells, I just knock one on the island top very lightly not expecting it to break at the first knock but it does. Shame we didn’t have any coriander but it was good.
