先日も説明したように今年はクリスマスカードを作り始めたのが遅過ぎて、クリスマスをお祝いする方達には（それでもクリスマスまで着かなかったところがほとんどだと思いますが）なんとかクリスマスの何日か前に出しましたが、日本のお友達の半分くらいにはまだ出せていません。去年も一昨年も市販のカードを使ったので今年はそれでもハンドメイドにしたくて、クリスマスまでに出せなかったカードはニューイヤーカード（お年賀状）にすることに。気長にお待ちください。

As I explained the other day, I was too late to start making Christmas cards last year.  I managed to post them at least before Christmas (but they probably didn’t all make it to their destinations before Christmas) but there are still quite a lot of Japanese friends who live in Japan I haven’t been able to send them to.  I sent shop-bought ones for the previous two years so I didn’t want to do that again this time, so I am still making them but they are going to be New Year cards.  I hope my friends don’t mind.

こちらは、アルコールインクを使ったニューイヤーカード。参考にしたビデオはこちらです。なかなか思うような雰囲気の模様（？）にならず、何度もインクを足してトライしましたが、結構匂いがキツくて余り長い時間出来ないので、「ま、いいか」な精神で。カードにしてみたらそれなりに良い感じになりました。

These are New Year cards I made using alcohol ink – here is the inspiration video of Jennifer McGuire.  This method isn’t controllable so you just get what you get.  I wasn’t happy with them so I kept adding ink and trying some more but the ink smells quite strongly so I couldn’t do that for long. After several trials I sort of had to leave them.  They look nicer once they are used on cards.
