今日のお昼頃に、家に戻りました〜！いつものことですが、やっぱり家はいいな〜とほっとしています。旅行中もずっと楽しくてリラックスしていたつもりなのですが、やはり家にいるのとは違いますものね。旅行記はオックスフォードのことがまだ残っていますが、それは後ほど。とりあえず、戻ってきました、のご報告。

We are home!  We arrived back around lunch time.  As always, it’s lovely to be home.  We had a wonderful time and I thought we were quite relaxed but it’s never the same as being home, is it?  There are a few things left to write about the holiday but I wanted to say we are safely back home.

本当ならオックスフォードでランチをしてもう少し遅い時間に戻って来ても良かったのですが、夫がデリバリーの配達を午後１時から５時に指定していたことを思い出し、早々に戻って来たのです。１２時２０分ごろに戻って来たのですが、時すでに遅し、なんと、留守でしたとノーティスが入っていました。この国のデリバリーの時間指定は本当に当てになりません、１時から５時なのになぜ１２時１０分ごろの配達なんでしょうか。この物件、もう数ヶ月前からのもので、ルンバが故障して新品と取り替えてもらおうとしているのですが、故障したものを取りに来る宅配便が似たような状況でいない時に来て、新品がやっともらえると思ったらこれなんです。ため息。

We could have had lunch and came back a little later, but there was supposed to be a delivery between 1:00pm and 5:00pm, so we came home around 12:20 – and found out that the delivery guy had already been and left a note saying nobody was home!  It’s so so annoying, why does this happen here?  What is the point of asking if we wanted the delivery in the morning or between 1:00pm and 5:00pm??  This has been a long standing problem, we were supposed to send back the Roomba that broke then they were supposed to send us a new one.  It took quite a few tries to get the old one picked up, then again for the new one to be delivered.

気を取り直して、お庭が旅行前とはすっかり変わって華やかになっていました！アリウムはもう終わっているかもと思いましたが、終わっているのもありますがまだたくさん咲いています。背が高くなって大きなポンポンなので迫力があります。また、後ほど写真をアップしたいと思います。

Anyway, it’s lovely to be home.  The back garden is looking so lovely with lots of flowers.  We thought the alliums may have gone but there are still quite a lot out, they are very tall and have large pompom of flowers.  I’ll blog our garden later separately.

今日の夕食は、今日の午後配達されてきたオンラインのオーダーにたまにオーダーするM&Sの野菜とレンティルのスープが入っていたので、そのスープと、戻ってきてすぐパン焼き機で焼いた焼きたてのパン。旅行から戻るとお洗濯や荷解きなどで忙しいので夕食を作るのは面倒になりそう、と思いスープをオーダーしておいて良かったです。

I thought we may not feel like cooking dinner today after travelling and having a lot to do like washing, unpacking etc so I’d added a tub of M&S’s Vegetable & Lentil Soup in the order of our online supermarket, which was delivered this afternoon.  I’m glad I did that.

食後のチーズも少しだけ。オックスフォードのチーズ専門店で買ってきました。ボーフォートというチーズを探していたのですが「それはないけど、似たようなのならこういうのがあるけど？」ということで試食して美味しかったので購入した、スイスのエティヴァというチーズ。昔ながらの製法（薪で加熱）で夏のアルプスの高地で育った牛の無殺菌乳を原料にエティヴァ村で作られたチーズ。生産量がとても少ないそうです。ハードチーズはほとんど苦手ですが、こういう熟成した旨味のあるチーズは好きです。

We had a little cheese after the soup.  We went to a cheese shop in Oxord and asked if they had  Beaufort and they told us they don’t but there are a couple of cheeses that are similar so we tried them and liked this one – Etivaz form Switzerland.  It is made in Etivaz village in Switzerland using only the unpasterised milk from the cattle grazed in the high Alps during the summer.  I don’t like hard cheese in general but I do like this type, that has been matured for months and has developed a deep flavour.  There is very of this little produced each year.
