今日はガーデンセンターで買うものがあって行ったので、ついでにランチもしました。大抵、この辺りで一番大きな Huskin’s というところに行きます。大きなカフェもあって、行くとついでにランチをすることが多いです。何度か美味しくないものも食べましたが、何回か前に食べた地中海風パニーニ（焼き野菜とピリ辛のソースとチーズのサンドイッチ）が美味しかったので、以来こればかり。ほとんどどこに行っても美味しくないものの方が多くて、美味しいものに当たるとそればかりオーダーすることが多いです。飽きて他のものをオーダーしてみたら、やっぱりダメだった、なんてことが多いので。夫はいつもはトマトとモッツァレラのパニーニをオーダーしていましたが今日はツナにしたら、あんまり美味しくなかったみたいで、残していました。ここのチップス（フライドポテト）も珍しくカリッとしていて美味しいのですが、パニーニでお腹いっぱいになってしまってあまり食べられないです。
We went to a garden centre to get a few things so had lunch there. We usually go to Haskin’s, which is the largest garden centre around here. There is a large cafe there so we usually have lunch as well. I’ve had a few things that I didn’t enjoy but a few times ago I had their Mediterranean Panini, which has grilled vegetables, a spicy sauce and cheese and is then toasted, As it was quite good I’ve been having the same panini. each time we go there. I find that in most places to eat there is only one or two good things, so when I find one good thing I tend to keep having the same one. Then one day I would try something else as I get bored with having the same, but regret it and go back to the original. My husband usually has Mozzarella and tomato panini, but he had a tuna one today, he didn’t enjoy it so much and left some. Their chips are good too, nice and crispy unlike many places but we cannot eat many of them because the panini is quite filling.
それにしても暑い。今日は２８度。カラッとしているので外の日陰に座っていれば快適なのですが、室内が暑い。多分クーラーが入っていたのとは思うのですがドアを開けっぱなしにしてあって、結構暑かったです、クーラーだけだと冷え切らないのだと思います。明日は、２９度になるそうなので憂鬱です。ベッドルームはこの数日はつけたり消したり。クラフトルームもつけたりけしたり。香港の暑い時期やシンガポールでは、自分たちがいるお部屋はつけっぱなしで過ごしていましたが（たまにそれほど暑くなくてクーラーが寒く感じる時期もあり、その時はつけたり消したりでした）、イギリスでは、特に今年は電気代が去年の倍になったので特に気にして涼しくなったら消すようにしています。でも、温度設定をして音が静かなモードにしていると快適すぎてクーラーを入れていることを忘れてしまうのですよね。香港やシンガポールのような広いお部屋じゃないですし湿度も低いので、よく効きます。夫は自分のお部屋は暑いので、お庭のパラソルの下で本を読んだりして過ごしています。わたしは室内の方が好きなのです。iPadやiPhoneであれこれしていると首が疲れますし、椅子もコンピューター用の椅子の方が疲れない。
It is so hot now, 28C today, as expected. It’s nice and dry so is actually quite nice in the shade but too hot inside buildings including our house. I think there was air-conditioning on because it wasn’t unbearably hot but I guess it’s too hot for the conditioning to cool down the whole place so the doors were open and it did feel a little warm. Apparently it’ll be even hotter tomorrow. We’ve been putting the air-con on and off at night in the bedroom and also in the craft room. In Hong Kong (when hot) and in Singapore (most of the year) we left the air-con on all the time whichever the room we are in (except when it’s a cooler time in Singapore and the air-con makes the room too cold). However, here, we are trying to put it on when too hot but turn it off when it cools down enough specially this year because the electricity cost double of last year in our case. The trouble is, though, the air-conditioning unit is so good that it is so quiet when I use ‘quiet mode’ and with the temperature setting it cools down to the nice temperature then keep it that way, so I tend to forget we have the air-con on. My husband was sitting in the garden under the parasol and reading but apparently it got too hot and he moved to the kitchen chair. I much prefer to sit at my desk in my craft room. Reading and typing using iPad and iPhone is very tiring for my beck and the chairs in the garden or even in the kitchen aren’t as comfortable as my PC chair.
