今日は少し前からインスタだかfacebookだかに入って来ていて気になっていたヴィンヤード（ワインは作っていないのですが、ワインに使う葡萄畑があるところ）でランチをして来ました。ヴィンヤードとしては随分前からオープンしていたと思いますが、食事が出来るようになったのは最近だと思います。ただ、テーブルの予約はヴィンヤードのツアーと込みでないと出来なくて、テーブルが空いていれば座れる、というシステムなので遠いところだと諦めるかもと思いますが、たまたま家から車で１０分ほどのすぐ近くにあるので行ってみました。今日はとても良いお天気で青空が広がっていたせいもありますが、レストランはパティオや芝生のベンチで仮フルニアなどのワイナリーを思い出す雰囲気でした。

We went to a Vineyard called Tinwood for lunch. I’ve seen their feeds in my Instagram or Facebook and been wanting to try, specially because it’s only about 10 minutes drive from us.  The vineyard itself has been open for quite a while but I think they started serving food only recently.  The problem is that you cannot book a table unless you book a vineyard tour, and you can get a table only if one is available when you get there.  If it were far we probably wouldn’t have tried it but as it’s near us we thought we’ll try and if it’s full we’ll go to Chichester instead.  It reminded us of wineries in California when we saw the place, specially because it is another beautiful day with a clear blue sky,

人気なのか（それほど広くないこともありますが）ツアーの方達で一杯とのことでしたが（行った時はまだツアーが終わっていなかったのでガラガラでしたが、確かにツアーが終わるとほぼ満席になっているようでした）、ピクニック用のベンチには座れるとのこと。木陰ではないところにあるパラソル付きのベンチが２つ、パラソルのないベンチがいくつかと木陰になるところにも１０セットくらいでしょうか、ベンチがありました。わたしたちはパラソルがついたベンチに座りました。

I guess it’s popular (and there aren’t that many tables) and we were told that the restaurant was full (it looked empty because the tour hadn’t finished, but once the tour finished it did fill up), but additional tables were available on the grass (some under the trees in the shade, some outside the tree shade but with a parasol and some in the sun), so we took a table with a parasol.

 

 

 

 

 

食事はセルフサービスになっていて、ガラス製の保存瓶などに入ったものを自分で選んでレジでお支払いする、というシステムになっていました。ミニのタジンに入っているのはディップ類、その上のガラスジャーに入っているのがオリーブ類、下の段が主にサラダ類。

It was serlf-service, you pick what you would like from the glass jars of olives, salads etc, then pay for them at the cashier.  The mini tagines contain different dips, the jars on the top shelf have olives and the jars on the bottom shelf contain different salads.

 

一番上がドレッシングっぽいタイプのディップ類（パンにつけて食べる）、２番目がパスタサラダやクスクスサラダなど、一番下はハムやサラミ類。他にもパエリヤなどもありました。

In this area the small jars on the top shelf contain dressing type dips (you dip bread in it), the jars on the 2nd shelf contain pasta salad, couscous salad, prawn salad etc.   The bottom shelves contain hams, salamis.  They also had Paella and other dishes.

 

葡萄やチーズ類、チーズケーキ、洋梨のコンポートなどだと思います。

Grapes, cheese cakes, pear compote etc.

ワインを入れる箱の中に欲しいものを入れてレジでお支払いします。ワインは別、ガス入りのお水を２杯を含めて、全部で４４ポンド（８０００円、いつも円換算すると高くてびっくりしますが、２人で４４ポンドならイギリスでは高くない、というかお安い印象です）。

You put what you’d like in a wooden wine box, then pay at the casher.   It was £44 including 2 glasses of sparkling water (which doesn’t seem bad at all until I convert it into Japanese yen…! ).  We got wine separately.

ピンクの泡泡を１杯ずついただきました。１杯８ポンド（１４６０円）だったと思います。

左から、サンドライトマトのクスクスサラダ、ポテトと卵のサラダ、茄子のキャビアディップ、サンドライトマトディップ、奥左からセロリアックのサラダ、トリュフのアランチーニ。パンはフォカッチャ１切れずつとチャバタっぽいパン１つ。どれも、美味しかったです！

こういうところはイギリスで（少なくとも我が家から行けるところで）他には知りませんし、今日は特にお天気が良かったこともあって気持ちよかったです。久しぶりにとても楽しい気分になるところでした。こんなところが家のすぐ近くにあるなんて！多分メニューはあまり変わらないと思うのでそれほど頻繁には行かないと思いますし、お天気が良くないとどこも外席なので行けませんが、暖かいうちに、そしてお天気が良い日に是非また行きたいと思います。

I don’t know anywhere else that is similar in England (or at least where we can go to) and it felt great, specially with this lovely weather.  It was different from anywhere else and it felt fun.  Shame we hadn’t tried it earlier when it is so close to us.  I’m guessing that the menu doesn’t change much so we probably won’t go often but I’d love to go back when the weather is good and is suitable for eating outside.
