今日は、チチェスターの「Purchases」というレストランにディナーに行ってきました。この辺りでは一番美味しいと思うレストランです。
We went to “Purchases” for dinner today. Out of the restaurants we’ve been to in this area I think so far this restaurant has been the best.
前菜は、ラスティックはカントリーパテ、スパイス入りプラムのチャツネ、ピクルス、チェリーのジェル、ブリオッシュのトースト。
For the starter we both had Rustic Style Country Pate (spiced plum chutney, pickles, cherry gel, toasted brioche), which was very good.
夫のメインはサイトのメニューに見つからないので詳しくはわからないのですが、鹿肉のメダリオン、多分スイスチャード、などなど。美味しかったそうです。
I cannot find my husband’s main on their site so I don’t know the details but it was Venison with, I think, Swiss chard etc. He said it was good.
わたしのメインは、蜂蜜、マスタード、パセリをのせて焼いたポークカツレット、トリュフとパルメザン入りマッシュポテト、スイートハートキャベツ、ディジョンマスタードソース。
My main was “Honey, Mustard & Parsley Crusted Pork Cutlet (truffle & Parmesan mash, sweetheart cabbage, dijon mustard sauce). It was quite good. It was huge, though, so I couldn’t finish it.
デザートは、スパイス入りアップルタルトタタンをシェアーしました。これはあまりタルトタタンっぽくなく、あまり美味しくなかったです。
We shared “Spiced Apple Tarte Tatin (Rum Caramel, Coconut Ice Cream). This one wasn’t very “Tarte Tatin” that we know of, we weren’t very keen.
夫は「メインにはポテトは添えていませんが、何かオーダーされますか？」と言われマッシュポテトをオーダーしていましたが、わたしのポークにたくさんマッシュポテトがついてきて食べきれなかったので必要なかったです、オーダーして無駄になった感じでした。お会計はガス入りのお水１本とワイングラス２杯を入れて、１１６ポンド（21850円）。イギリスだとやっぱり、ある程度のレストランだと最低これくらいです。
When my husband ordered his main, the staff asked if he wanted any potato on the side because it didn’t come with any and he ordered mashed potato. We found out when my main came that it came with mashed potato and I could not eat all so what he ordered was kind of a waste. Including a bottle of sparkling water and 2 glasses of red wine it was £116. In England it costs at least this much if you go to a good restaurant.
家の中にずっといるとクリスマス気分にはなれないので、この時期は意識して外出するようにしていますが、チチェスターのクリスマスのデコレーションはまだ全部はアップされていませんでした。壁のツリーは取り付けられていて電飾もついていましたが、メインの通りの飾りは取り付けられてはいるのですがまだ電飾はオフのままでした。１２月に入ってからオンのするのかな。
As we cannot feel Christmassy if we stay at home, we try to go out now and again this time of year. We were expecting to see the main streets in Chichester full of Christmas decorations but not all the decorations were lit up yet, maybe they wait until December?
