Back Home (And Dinner At Lemongrass In Chichester)

昨日の夜中を過ぎて、無事に家に着きました！ベニスからのフライトがイギリス上空の悪天候のため（霰が降ったらしいです）１時間遅れてしまい、ベニスの空港で長く待ちましたが、お迎えのタクシーを予約していたので夫が運転するストレスがなくて良かったです。楽しみにしていた旅行が終わって寂しい反面、我が家に着くとやはりほっとするもの。でも、家の中が寒かった〜！寒い、寒いと言いながら寝ました。２日前にヒーターを入れていたのですが戻ってきたら家の中は冷え切っていて１４度だったのでした。今朝になっても暖かくならず、ボイラーがオフになっていたとわかりました。その後、オンにして全体のヒーターを入れて、やっと少し暖かくなった、という次第。

We arrived back home after midnight last night. The flight from Venice to London was delayed by an hour due to the bad weather above the UK (apparently they had hail). We were glad that we had a taxi booked and my husband didn’t have to drive home, it would have been both tiring and stressful driving at night. I was a little sad that our holiday that we had been very looking forward to has ended, but it’s always so nice to be home after being away. However, it was very very cold! We kept saying it was cold until we fell asleep. My husband did put the heating on 2 days before we got back, but the whole house was cold and was 14C. It didn’t get much better by the morning and my husband found out that our boiler was off (our boiler has been playing up a bit). After he put it on and the heating was turned on it started to get warmer.

今朝起きてお庭を見ると旅行前とはがらっと変わってカラフルになっていました。明日にでも、お庭のアップデートをしたいと思います。

When I opened the blinds this morning, our back garden was looking very different from when we left home for our holiday and is looking quite colourful.

戻ってくるのが遅かったので今朝は多少は疲れている気もしましたが、遠くから戻ったわけではないのでそれほどでもなかったです。３週間近く留守にしていたので埃っぽかったので家の中の家具などの拭き掃除をして、夫は洗濯をしてくれて、せっかく良いお天気だったので午後からはアランデル城のチューリップフェスティバルを見に行って、戻ってからわたしはお庭の花殻積み（１種類だけまだ水仙が残っていますが他は花殻になっていたので）と雑草抜きを１時間ちょっと頑張りました。

We were late to come back last night so I suppose we were a little tired but it was not like when we come back from Asia like Japan. As we’d been away nearly 3 weeks the whole house was a bit dusty (floors/carpets had been hoovered by our robots but we haven’t found any robot that would dust furniture etc) so I did dusting of the whole house, my husband did the washing. The weather was lovely today so we went to Arundel Castle to see their Tulip Festival in the afternoon. After getting back, I did deadheading of narcissus (one kind of narcissus are still out but all the rest had gone), then did some weeding for a little more than an hour.

旅行から戻って来ると、あんなにおうちご飯が恋しかったのにお料理したくない、という不思議、これもまた旅行から戻ったときのあるあるです（笑）。ということで、今日の夜は外食でした。

It is strange but it’s always the same, we start missing our ‘home cooked food’ after a week or so on holiday but when we get home we don’t feel like cooking. So we went out for dinner today.

旅行中、あまりアジア料理を食べる機会がなかったので、タイ料理を食べに行くことにしました。いつも行くアランデルの「Thai Time」を予約しようとしたのですが出来なくなっており、お休みかと調べたところ５時からオープンとあったので行ってみたのですが、閉まっていました（涙）。夫はどこか他に行くつもりだったようでしたがアランデルにはあまりレストランがなく、イタリアン、インド、ステーキ、パブしかなく、どれも気分じゃない。わたしの口はもうタイ料理の口になっていまして（笑）。ということで、我が家方面にまた戻り、反対側にあるチチェスターまで行って「Lemongrass」に行きました。

We didn’t have a lot of chance to have Asian food while we were on holiday, so we decided to go to a Thai restaurant (well, I did). We wanted to book a table at “Thai Time” in Arundel, but the day was blocked for booking. My husband looked up and found it saying it’ll open at 5:00pm so we assumed that the date was blocked because they don’t want to take booking online on the day. However, when we got there sadly the restaurant was closed. My husband was suggesting we go to one of other restaurants there but Arundel doesn’t have many restaurants – Italian, Indian, Steak, a couple of pubs… I didn’t fancy any of them because my mouth was ready for Thai! So we drove to Chichester, which is back past our house and further on, to go to “Lemongrass’.

オーダーは、マンネリ。揚げ野菜春巻き、チキンサテー、チキンラーブ（サラダ）、パッタイ。パッタイは多分エビの何かが入っていて苦手な味でしたが、他は美味しくいただきました。デザートは夫が好きなバナナのフリッター。

Our orders in Thai restaurants are a bit boring, very similar every time – vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay, chicken laab (salad), Pat Thai. Pat Thai had some sort of prawn sauce so I wasn’t keen, but enjoyed the others.
